Jamart’s “False Feeding”: A Provocative Journey Beyond Conventional Thought

In the progressive metal scene, Jamart’s latest release, “False Feeding,” stands as a testament to the band’s commitment to challenging norms and provoking thought. Hailing from Australia, Jamart has consistently pushed the boundaries of music and message, and “False Feeding” is no exception. This single marks a continuation of the band’s unique approach, rather than a departure from their established style.

Continuity in Rebellion

“False Feeding” is not a shift or evolution for Jamart but rather a continuation of the themes explored in their previous works, such as “Public Killing” from their first album. The band’s vocalist and guitarist, Ersh, explains, “It has the intention to enlighten listeners’ brainwashed minds to seeing things in a different way. Which is completely obvious to anyone who can see.” This song, like its predecessors, aims to challenge the status quo and encourage listeners to question the narratives presented to them.

The Boldness of Truth

Jamart’s decision to release a politically and socially charged song like “False Feeding” is a bold move in an era of often superficial music. Ersh likens this boldness to an immune response, saying, “Being brave is good for the immune system.” The song serves as a call to action, a hope that people will rise against corruption and injustice. “With enough songs like this, my hope is that an adequate number of people in this world will rise up,” Ersh states, reflecting his desire for profound societal change.

Effortless Creation, Complex Themes

Creating “False Feeding” was a natural process for Jamart, despite its complex themes. The challenges arose more in the realm of presentation, particularly in creating the music video and discussing the song’s meaning in constrained environments. Ersh recalls a particular instance with a radio station where he had to navigate censorship, “That radio station feared the master puppeteers by trying to restrict my words and my meaning for this song.”

A Message of Liberation

The key message Jamart wants to convey through “False Feeding” is the liberation of minds from narrow worldviews. “I want to free people’s minds from the narrowness of this world, and expand their minds to the vastness of this universe and beyond,” says Ersh. The band seeks to provoke a strong reaction, whether it be hatred or inspiration for change.

The Essence of Jamart

Looking ahead, Jamart does not see their music as evolving but rather as revealing what it already encompasses. “Jamart is already everything and encompasses everything,” Ersh asserts. The band’s name itself, derived from an ancient language, signifies the unification of many for a singular purpose.

“False Feeding” is a powerful addition to Jamart’s discography, continuing their tradition of challenging societal norms and encouraging listeners to think critically. This track, along with the upcoming series of singles, promises to be a journey through provocative themes and powerful music, appealing to fans of Opeth, Nirvana, and Devin Townsend. Jamart remains a beacon for those seeking depth and truth in music, unafraid to confront the uncomfortable realities of our world.
