The birth of this evil goes back in 2001.Montreal, Canada and Gutter Demons are considered godfathes of Canadian psychobilly scene, being a great inspiration to bands like Creepshow or The Brains. The new album contains 11 songs of cold, dark and evil atmospheric psychobilly that makes your gut twist and your brain wanting blood, wanting more and wanting it now. Besides psychobilly, the music of Gutter Demons has punk and metal influences. I can even hear some Danzig influence in Devil˙s Hand and some Slayer I heard in Psychotrons. But, don´t get me wrong, this is neither metal nor punkrock, this is great psychobilly with a lot of darkness, blood, guts and horror in lyrics the way it should be, besides also exploring darker side of human psyche. For me, the best songs on this record are the above mentioned Devil˙s Hand turning from metal to fast energetic killing ground, Ghostrider and Cold Call. Good one!

(record review)A Pony Named Olga-Ave Maria

A Pony Named Olga have a new album and I listened and reviewed it for this zine.

These three guys are from Germany, Berlin, and they have been around for some time, to be precise since 2004. They play a unique nice combination of psychobilly, cowpunk, punkabilly, polka and dirty rock n roll. Of course, there is a lot of irony and black humor thrown in for good measure. This new studio album contains 14 songs of mayhem, just made for your ass to jump, wreck and dance around. The melodies are just enough not to be too wussy and sweet, and the songs structures are just hard enough to be great to make you full of energy. There are couple of gems on this album that are very worth mentioning in my opinion, those are The Law, the title track Ave Maria and 1941. This album is great, I love every minute of it and just listen and spice up your day with some great music.

(record review)ROCKER ARMS-“Leaving Jersey Shore”

Dear fiends and fiendettes, it is time for some psychobilly mixed with punk on the pages of this webzine. Rocker Arms from Holland are veterans of the scene being formed in 1999. and playing with some lineup changes until now. This is their new record which I listened and reviewed for this webzine.

The record contains seven songs of psychobilly mayhem with a lot of punk influences thrown in the song structures for good measure. “Joey” is a melodic song leaning heavily on punky riffs, psychobilly guitar work and nice melodic vocal lines. “Closer to me” is a more of a classic psychobilly song again with nice melodic chorus and some surf influences thrown in. “Free Beer 4 All” also owes more to the band˙s psychobilly roots than to punkrock but it is a very heavy sounding song nonetheless. “Don`t tell me” is a hymn to freedom, not living caged by boundaries and being truely free of conformism. “Dressed in red” starts as a horror psychobilly song with whispered word, thunder and has that old school black and white horror movie vibe. It is for me maybe the best song on this record. “Punk Nr” is just what the title says pure blood punkabilly song, fast and strong instrumental. “28” closes the record in the energetic fast and wrecking psycho style. This is a great record so if you are a fan of such music have a grab on this one!
