FRIDAY’S SPIRIT: The punk rockers reveal their new single, “TSTT”!

5c4208478696e3be18136e53
Friday’s Spirit is a punk rock band hailing from Salzburg, Austria.
After an EP titled “Parts”, out since 2017, the band is now back with a music video for its brand new single, titled “TSTT”. Perfectly showing the punk and rock influences of the band, this single is officially available on major streaming platforms since January 28th 2019.
On this new single and music video, the band comments:
TSTT actually means Trans-Siberian Thunder Tiger and is based on a real story, reported by the UK newspaper METRO. In 2016, a man, allegedly from the Czech Republic, was filmed by hidden cameras, running 15 and a half miles naked through a forested area near the Czech-Polish border. The police later on reported that he had taken the hallucinatory drug LSD, which made him feel like he had become a Siberian tiger.
At first, when we read about it, we were just joking around. However, the more we laughed and talked about it, the more we were trying to re-create the circumstances that had led to this bizarre transformation. In fact, he also mentioned that he had always felt connected to the animal. So, hands down, how cool is that? I mean, you could take it as a reference to ‘wanting to break out’, or you could just picture a naked man running through a forest. We prefer the latter.
The band continues: “The shooting was great and we had tons of fun! At this point, we’d like to give a shout-out to Max and Dominik from Art of Sight Productions for hours and hours of hard work! Also, shout-out to the actor, Raphael Steiner, a good friend of ours. He truly was the best person to bring about the story. And only when we watched the scenes for the first time, we realized how dependent a good video is on acting!
We’re just super happy about the result, and hope that our fans, including many new people, will enjoy listening to TSTT.

(record review)Live Your Gimmick Volume 1-Tuna Forsushi Records

Tuna Forsushi Records released this four way split record featuring four bands from Maryland. I listened and reviewed this record for our zine.

The Drivin´Beats are featured with five songs of almost rock n roll sound with some garage punk influences even surf rock in Vampire Girl which was number one song for me on their part of the record. The music of this band was just not my cup of tea because I am oriented towards more punk stuff and I am not fan of music such as this band plays.

Sourpuss part of the record, also five songs are a bit better, but also not really my cup of tea, being too rock and roll and sometimes even too grungy, too biker hardrock for my taste, with way too many guitar solos and too long songs. I can`t dispute their musicianship, but I just don`t like such music.

The Downstrokes part of the record was right one. I love their dirty Dwarves reminding punkrock with enough energy and melody with also punk audacity and this was the best band on this record for me. Punk Rock Lolita is the song which I listened to on repeat for couple of times in a row. Great stuff.

The Xiles somehow reminded me of 77 punk bands like Sex Pistols and all those early UK punk bands with the raised middle finger in the air and not giving fuck about anything. Their five songs were just great to hear because I haven˙t listened to some old school punkrock for some time now.

So in all, this is a decent record with four bands for everyones taste, so full suport to the label and bring ´em more.
