BIO:

Gibberish saw light of day in 2015, launched by 2 Japanese skatepunk nerds Yuto and Tetsuya.

The band focuses on making 90′- 00’s influenced skatepunk songs through email chain with 2 American and Italian skatepunk geeks, Kyle Olson and Alex Gavazzi.

In October 2015, the debut single Milo was released via a compilation called “We Carry the Torch”, released by Torch of Hope Records, while July 2016 marked the release of their highly acclaimed first EP “Between Timid and Timbuktu”.

In April 2020 the band was on the lineup of Manchester Punk Fest for their first ever live show, but due to COVID-19, the festival was cancelled.

Gibberish is gearing up to release their debut LP Strangers in 2021, via Thousand Islands Records.

(review) Belvedere – Hindsight Is The Sixth Sense (Thousand Islands Records/Lockjaw Records)

folder

Canadian veterans Belvedere are back with new record helped by Thousand Islands Records and Lockjaw Records. This new effort offers thirteen songs of breakneck speed melodic punk hardcore with lots of technicality, yet at the same time retaining anthemic and melodic approach and appeal. The musicianship is fantastic, songwriting is by far one of the best in band´s long time career. Songs like Elephant March or Camera Obscura are bound to be your favorites for a long time. Steve´s vocals are better than ever and guitar solos, harmonies, catchy hooks and metal and hardcore influenced breaks and slower parts are superb, returning as again to beauty and basis of plain punk rock. Lyrics deal with topics that everyone can connect to. Song called Comrade featuring guest performance by Roger Lima from Less Than Jake is also one of my favorites on this one. Memento Mori features guest appearance by Dylan Toews from Wolfrik, also Rody Walker from Protest The Hero appears on Automate and these are really stellar guests on this record. But, Belvedere are real stars of this record. And it shines brighter than ever.

(review) Dental Records Compilation Vol 3

Canadian label Dental Records keeps giving great stuff to the scene and here is already third compilation of new music just waiting for you to discover it. This time, there are 13 songs by ten bands and I must admit that besides Ink Bomb and No Breakfast Goodbye all the others were total unknown to me prior to this record. I found couple of great bands to peel my ears and eyes too in the future, that being The Softer Side from Florida playing fast melodic skate punk just the way I like it. Also, The Young Rochelles from NY are my personal favorite with their Ramonescore reminding me of Teenage Bottlerocket in a way. Last Chance Marie from Canada are also great with kinda rough yet melodic punk rock delivering punch in my face how good their music is. Big Spin from Mexico are also fast and full of energy just the way I like it.

Another great compilation indeed and more great bands I discovered!
