When we talk about this band we can safely say that we deal with a kind of punkrock supergroup. Featuring ex members of Pridebowl, members of Double Negative, ex Lowprofile to name a few, the members of this band live scattered in UK, South Africa and USA, they are living proof that music really has no boundaries and continents are no problem if you want to play and record music. The album contains 15 songs of fine melodic fast punkrock with a lot of technical prowess, reminding me a lot of some bands that Bird Attack used to release couple of years back. It is fascinating how this band stands with one foot in the melody and heartwarming catchy tunes and at the same time they are hard enough to appease even tough hardcore kids. The guitars are even metalic I daresay, but having catchy punkrock riffs that are all used really clever in the song structures. The songs are mainly fast, drums are fast paced and everyone who knows me can confirm how much the vocals are important to me in such bands. This band has awesome rough voiced yet sung vocals and great used harmonies on backing vocals that fit perfect in the songs. The last record was great, but this new one is just awesome. There are some guest performances on the record by Dennis Jagard from Ten Foot Pole and ex Ignite Joe Foster along with Paul Stevenson. This is a strong record, totally energetic and fast, with lyrics that are not shallow but hit their mark along with music. Recommended songs: Where Is Our Hero, Just Words, New World Order.

Brand New Lungs release debut album “Like Wildfire”

brandnewlungs_press

Montreal based melodic punk rockers Brand New Lungs have released their debut album “Like Wildfire” via Thousand Islands Records. Merging pop-punk, melodic and skatepunk vibes, “Like Wildfire” is available on the most popular digital platforms as well as on compact disc. Check it out HERE.

Brand New Lungs recently revealed the music video for 90’s Pop Songs which can be seen below.

Brand New Lungs are four dudes from Montreal, Canada using a punk rock band as an excuse to drink beer and have fun. They somehow manage to deliver catchy and heartfelt punk rock, and to get their shit together enough to release an album! Say whaaat!

They are releasing their debut album, but by no means are they newcomers to the scene as they all played in several other acts before. They now know that the only way to make it in the music industry is to sell yourself to a soul crushing, boring, 9 to 5 desk job in order to have your weekends off and play shows in front of your 3 best friends, and Mark from the office.
So come to a show, drink beer and singalong! Some might say that fans of Millencolin, RVIVR, Menzingers, and basic human decency might enjoy their music.

(news)Much The Same Release New Single & Announce Album Pre-Orders

47b44aa9-ba3a-4f76-962f-475801173f5b

Chicago skate-punks Much The Same return with their first single in 13 years! ‘Snake In The Grass’ is the first single to be released from their upcoming album ‘Everything Is Fine’.

‘Everything Is Fine’ is due for release on 26 July 2019, just in time to celebrate the band’s 20th year anniversary and guitarist Dan O’Gorman’s recent victory over cancer. The release is a collaborative effort by Lockjaw Records (UK/EU), Thousand Islands Records (CA) and Pee Records (AUS).

The first single ‘Snake In The Grass’ deals with the songwriter’s experience of being treated as an unwanted intruder when living under his in-laws’ roof while his marriage was coming to an end.

“This song was an eye opener for me,” says guitarist Dan O’Gorman. “The original idea was to write about a shitty person I was living with and how they made my life miserable, then after looking at the situation retrospectively, I realised I was the bad guy; I was the villain living among them, the snake in the grass.

“Also, I’m a history teacher and I loved the story behind the Culper Spy Ring during the revolutionary war, where a spy loyal to the patriots is still living with his Tory wife and pledging his loyalty to the British. I found our two stories aligned quite well, so I tried to use older English terms and vocabulary to cross both ideas together.”

Revitalising their mid-noughties skate-punk heyday with a musical nod to Lagwagon, ‘Snake In The Grass’ demonstrates the refreshed, upbeat sound of Much The Same’s newest release.

‘Everything Is Fine’ is available for release on 12’’ vinyl, in a mix of blue suede shoe and cherry cola colour. It’s also available on CD and alongside a range of t-shirt and hoodie bundles.

PRE-ORDER NOW!

Much The Same spent most of the previous decade as a staple of the Chicago punk scene and making a name for themselves worldwide. They kept 90’s-style skate-punk alive on two albums, ‘Quitters Never Win’ on Anti-Flag’s own A-F Records, and then on the more musically mature ‘Survive’ on Nitro Records.

Their focus has always been on writing fast and catchy songs that chronicle their struggles with friendships, faith, and failure. During their otherwise successful 2007 European tour the band broke up under the strain of changing dreams and character flaws. But in 2015, with a fresh perspective, a still-growing fan base, and a desire to make music together again, the band picked up where they left off and began the process of writing new material.
