(record review)VARIOUS ARTISTS-“Aussie Epitaph Records Tribute”(Dead Memory Records)

Punk hardcore record label from Melbourne, Australia Dead Memory Records released this fine compilation as an Australian tribute to the awesome Epitaph Records. I listened to the record and reviewed it for this webzine.

I will just name the songs and the bands that I personally liked on this record. I just love Australian punk hardcore scene, I mentioned it before, it is such a rich and great scene with many bands coming to my ears every month and it is just awesome that music binds us together across half of the world distance. The record contains 15 songs varying in covers from metalcore to old school Epitaph classic melodic punk bands. I love Last covering “All I Want” by The Offspring. No Quarter did a fine job with “Greed”(Pennywise). The Phosphorus Bombs medley of Bad Religion songs is cracking with energy and makes you wanna dance all over your room while listening to the music. Dal Failure of NOFX˙s “The Bag” is atmospheric and nice. Incomplete covered Bad Religion “Do What You Want” with acoustic atmospheric start turning into fast punkrock anthem this song really is. The Orphan version of The Offspring˙s “Bad Habit” in metalcore style was just terrible for me. I am not going to reveal more songs and what bands they cover, you just have to find out for yourselves. This is a good compilation with more good than bad songs and a nice tribute to the label whose bands influenced so many of us.

(new video-technical skatepunk)The Human Project released their new video!

UK´s premiere technical melodic hardcore punks The Human Project just released their new video for Pride Before a Fall. The song is taken off a new album Clarion Call.(album review here!)

The song is about depression and how to deal with it. If you are down, remember there is always someone who loves you, who is there for you. Sometimes it all seems too much, believe me, I have been there, but there is always a way and a new tomorrow, no matter how hard it is, it˙s always darkest before the dawn!

(record review)NOFX-“Ribbed-Live in a dive”(Fat Wreck Chords)

NOFX just released the new album in Live in a dive series. This time they played their legendary “Ribbed” album in it´s entirety.

Cover

Many people think that this band somehow lost it˙s touch, lost inspiration and records one boring album after another boring album. Personally, I don´t think that this is true. I think that they still got that something that sets them apart from other bands of this style. They still got the mojo to have fun and at the same time play awesome music. Sometimes they don`t have their day, but we are all only humans are we? So, this legendary album is played live with standard NOFX trademark humour between the songs. Who loves songs like “Moron Brothers”, “Cheese/Where´s my slice” or “Together on the sand” and other legendary songs from “Ribbed” will love this album.
