W.A.B. shoots against the rock ‘n’ roll establishment

W.A.B. comeback with a new music video. “…and kill the worms” feature a controversial cover with the recently deceased Keith Flint, Prodigy vocalist, and is accompanied by the manifesto “Kill the old rockers! Kill the worms”, where they attack a rotten scene that has lost its essence and doesn’t know how to renew itself.

There’s no future in rock ‘n’ roll. With the passage of time we see what it has become and make us want to vomit: old glories that lost their essence long time ago but they never left; others who come back to drag their old asses one more time; tribute bands everywhere… and in the middle of this cult to the past young people are begging to play live!
In the big gigs posters there is a small print which says: “If you are 20 years old, there’s no room for you here”. The new bands are small multifunctional entities that have to take on the role of band, label, booking, promotion, merchandising, producer, and I don’t know how many more things, to end up seeing how the outdated artists are still up there due to the name of their brand and other intricacies that have nothing to do with the essence of rock ‘n’ roll.
Do the current Metallica, Misfits, Discharge, Guns N Roses, Exploited, or Slayer represent anything like that? Or our nearest case, La Polla Records, that seem to be the next to join this geriatric parade. To us, they are only just rancid trying to emulate a past of rebellion that lost long time ago. Those rock dictators are still there after 40 years entrenched on their comfortable armchair, and we would like to remind our sleeping generation that the dictators must be smashed with the guns in hand.
Don’t kill imagination! If the past was better, it’s because now we insist on not living in the present. In the eighties, people didn’t say “the 60s were better”. NO! They said: “Let’s do better than them”. That’s attitude! That’s Rock n Roll!
The current world tells us that we should wait until we are 40 years old to say what we want, but we don’t want to wait. We are 20 years old and we have something to shout NOW!
IT’S TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, TO DECLARE WAR ON THE OLD GUARD. IT’S TIME TO KILL THE WORMS!

(record review)BLOWFUSE-Daily Ritual(Morning Wood Records)

Blowfuse are punkrock band from Barcelona, Spain formed in 2013. I am happy that I listened and reviewed their new album for our zine. The album is out with Morning Wood Records.

cover

These guys have been famous for their ferocious live energetic shows playing more than 250 shows and becoming one of the most important younger Spanish punkrock bands. This new record contains 11 anthems of melodic punk. Don˙t expect your usual fast skatepunk Nofx style here, this material is much more complex than that. There are many influences with Blowfuse music, mainly skatepunk, but also garage punk, hardcore and even indie noisy stuff. There are fast songs like awesome Dreams or Grand Golden Boy, punk anthems like Angry John, for me one of the highlights of the album, but this album also has one of the best lyrical side of things in a long time. It is too much to say that this is a concept album, but all of the songs talk about little stuff you have to do every day to survive in this rough and ugly modern world, battling with depression and anxiety packed into smart lyrics I can relate to. The vocals are also important for me in such bands and these guys have specific voiced singer which made me love this band even more. This is a great modern punk album!

(record review)ADRENALIZED-Operation Exodus(La Agonia De Vivir Records)

Adrenalized never cease to amaze me. I listened and reviewed their brand new record out on La Agonia De Vivir Records for our zine.

cover

This Basque country based hardcore band amazed me since I first heard their music. Their ferocious, super fast, yet melodic technical hardcore is just awesome. When they announced their new album with couple of singles they released from this forthcoming album, I knew I was into for something great.

The record contains 12 songs, mainly super fast and energetic with technical skills set on super high level played with matchless exact and superb musicianship. There are a lot of metalic influences in the music of Adrenalized but they took somehow the best influences from both worlds. Sensibility and melody of punkrock and ferociousness and wilderness of metal waters. The lyrics are in English except one song and I love about this band that they have firm political stance and attitude often lacking in the modern punk hardcore scene. This album is our heartily and firm recommendation to all the fans of fast charged, yet melodic and singalong anthemic punk hardcore. My favorites: Engraved In Stone, Revenge.
