Hailing from Edmonton area, Canada, these guys took the scene by storm delivering a blast bomb with their material mixing skatepunk and thrash metal delivering one soundscape that is a whirlwind of melody, energy, guitar driven madness and positivity. This e.p. contains 5 songs of mainly blistering fast, guitar shredding songs with screaming, yet fine melodic vocals that are fitting just nicely into the song structures. For me Predator and the title track are somehow the songs that stand out more above the rest of the material on this record, but don´get me wrong, the whole e.p. is just perfect if you love your skatepunk delivered with metalic technical precision, smart solutions in the songs, great melody and force drive. The band is on European tour this spring, so be sure to catch them somewhere live because I can only imagine how this might sound live, I get goosebumps on my skin immediately.

(record review)Bring On The Storm-Altruism

Bring On The Storm are hailing from Calgary, Canada and I listened to their new record and reviewed it for this zine.

cover

This is the self released record with Thousand Islands Records being partner for distribution. The record contains 8 songs of melodic technical skatepunk. If I must compare their music to some bands it would be Strung Out and This Is A Standoff. The music is at an awesome musicianship level, technical yet ultramelodic and neckbreaking fast, like for example Life Sucks, one of my favorite songs on this record. The lyrics are, as far as I heard them, personal and they fit just nice into the song structures. The guys also show with Alive that acoustic songs can be really beautiful. But, what makes this record great, are straight forward fast technical tunes like Spineless Gutless Bitch. If you love your skatepunk technical, melodic and energetic this one is a keeper!
