After years of performing all across Israel alongside International acts, releasing albums, and keeping Jerusalem’s metal scene alive with their original bands, band members from Jerusalem’s Godfather of thrash  Shwortsechaye ” and “ Birth ” decided to form Sintax in late 2010.

Sintax toured Israel and had a special feature on the Israeli Headbangers Ball , and released two video clips from their already recorded album “ Sway For A Better Day ”.  The album itself got some raving reviews both domestic and abroad. Sintax is considered a super group by Israeli standards and has an established fan base all over the country. Sintax live act is considered one of the best metal live act in Israel to date.

Here’s the new single “ Lunchtime Funeral ” from upcoming album “ Nano 3000 ”

(review) Body Count-Carnivore

cover

Ice-T and legendary Body Count are back with the new record. When I was a kid in highschool and Copkiller came out, I was starstruck and we adored this band, being so rebellious, so streetwise, blending thrash metal and hardcore. I came from metal into hardcore punk, so I always had my metal roots and love for metal until these days. The next album Born Dead was a blast too, later albums were good but never reached the level and mythical place of first two albums in my eyes. Those newer records were probably as good if not better, but you know, when something is myth in your head, it is hard to leave it or change it. Let˙s talk about the new one. The title song which came as a single was not something that I liked a lot, because it is too slow and too one way roadlike. But, fortunately this album has some standout blasting songs which hit you like fist in the eye and slap on your cheek. Point the Finger(featuring Riley Gale) is an anthem against cop violence for all of us who were harassed by the cops in our lives. Body Count still does what they do best, mix thrash metal with street hardcore to get the best of both worlds. Bum-Rush is a groove metal hymn that reminds me a lot of nineties. This time the band pays hommage to Motorhead and Lemmy covering Ace of Spades and they did it nice, reminded me of those Exploited medley covers which Ice did with Slayer on Judgement Night movie soundtrack. Hatebreed˙s Jamey Jasta is a guest on Another Level, slow and strong song with great lyrics. Remake of old hit Colors is a right one for this millenia so new kids can hear it, it reminds me of that fantastic movie which is one of my all time favorite movies. I miss faster songs, the groove is still here, the lyrics are here, Ice-T˙s dramatic voice is still here, also charisma, but there are just too many slower songs. When I˙m Gone is most emotional and melodic song of the record featuring guest vocals by Amy Lee. Not to discover just all, you will have to listen for yourself. This is not the best BC album, but it is damn fine.

(book) Dave Mustaine memoir, a life in metal.

This is a wonderful book and I enjoyed every single page. The reading is intense, a real page turner. For those who don´t know that, Dave Mustaine is a metal legend, founder and frontman/guitarist for legendary thrash metal outfit Megadeth, one of the big four in thrash metal. This book is his story, from childhood with abusive alcoholic father and broken home to beginning with Metallica and co-writing the first Metallica album. He got kicked from that band in New York and I recently read Scott Ian from Anthrax book and it was interesting to see how those two saw the same event. Dave swore to avenge on Metallica, so he formed Megadeth, his band and the book is story of all ups and downs, line-up changes, Dave´s ongoing fighting with his drug addiction and alcohol leading him to become a kind of new born christian. It was fun to read about the beef with Jon from Dissection when they got kicked off the festival because Mustaine wouldn´t play with satanic bands on the bill hehe. No matter, this one is exciting read, full on page turner and it has some amazing moments from tour that make you laugh, cringe, sick and above all make you love this band even more. I was fortunate that I saw them twice when they played in our country, once a solo gig in sweaty club which was fantastic and once in a big arena with Slayer which was a bit less fantastic, but great indeed. I recommend this book with all my heart, not only to the fans, but also to the people who love great and exciting books.
