I love when people get rowdy and show emotion during this song, it’s quite a blessing to have your music connect on many levels.”

“Most people expected a video drenched in blood or something out of ‘Night Of The Living Dead’ but that’s the reason we went ‘digital’ with the aesthetic. I’ve never done something like that before and this song leans on the concept of someone trying to change you. This is something we all deal with in friendships and relationships alike. Great things will come if you can look past other people’s distractions and know your self-worth.”

“It’s been a blast touring with our brothers in From Ashes To New. I love going out with bands that have passion and amazing production. I learn a lot watching bands perform and FATN really bring a great set! We are hitting cities I haven’t played in years and bringing our brand of music across the US once again.

(record review)ABANDONED BY BEARS-Headstorm(Victory Records)

The new album by Swedish crew Abandoned By Bears will be released on August 24th via Victory Records. We were lucky to listen to the record and review it for this webzine.

The album contains 11 songs and the music these guys play borders somewhere between modern melodic hardcore and pop punk. On the one side you can get chugga chugga stop and go breakdowns like in Drowned Out and also more calmer and tender melodies with backing vocals like in Outrun Reality. Some people in the scene don´t like such bands claiming that they only jumped on a bandwagon to grab some glory, girls and money. I don˙t think so. I am also more into old school faster stuff but albums like this are really sometimes refreshing to have a go and listen for a while. There are some faster parts like in Held Against You.  I love the title song and the video those guys made for it. I also love Greyscale very much. It is true that some songs on this album might sound similar but there are more great songs on this album than those sounding similar, so this is a good record.

(new video-melodic punk)ABANDONED BY BEARS DELIVER NEW VIDEO “SO FAR GONE”

“So Far Gone,” the track that kicks off ABANDONED BY BEARS’ highly anticipated album is here today. The bands third studio album, Headstorm, is set for worldwide release on August 24, 2018 via Victory Records. To coincide with the release, the Swedish punk crew will be serving up old favorites alongside their new tunes on the inaugural Headstorm Tour, kicking off August 24 in Chicago, IL.

Bassist Gustav Eriksson explains the track’s meaning, “This is about coming to your senses after you’ve gone down the wrong path in life. Whether it is a major life changing mistake or just a small thing to anger you, ‘So Far Gone’ elaborates on how these circumstances make you feel lost and out of place in your current situation. Visually, we wanted to show an interpretation of the lyrics with the slightly funny side of an 80’s adventure movie.”

Fronted by the dual vocal combo of Leon Ekelund and Fredric Andersson, ABANDONED BY BEARS is rounded out by guitarist Jacob Devinder and Max Fahlman on drums. The band released The Years Ahead in 2016 under Victory Records and spent a quarter of that year in the US touring ever possible corner. They returned in 2017 for another taste of America before closing out the year with their first ever tour of the UK.

Due to popular demand, ABANDONED BY BEARS will spend two months circling the US for the first tour supporting Headstorm, starting August 24 in Chicago. The tour ends in Nashville on October 25 and “fans can expect a good mix between the last album The Years Ahead, the new one and even some older, deeper material,” promises Eriksson. “We’ve put together a good set that will appeal to everyone and can’t wait to showcase it. Other than that, we look forward to seeing old friends and faces, make new ones and have a good time like always! Americans are always very friendly and welcoming so we’ll probably end up needing surgery on the muscles of our faces to fix the mile-wide grins!”
