(review) Audio Karate-Malo(Wiretap Records)

cover

The long awaited third album by Audio Karate is out now with Wiretap Records. The record contains 8 songs of melodic, emotional punkrock. The music of this band can be put into same drawer like for example The Menzingers, Nothington or Flatliners, but Audio Karate is specific because they somehow managed to keep their own signature brand style like great emotional voice in the vocal lines, some almost spacy melancholic and atmospheric parts like for example in Sin Cuchillo guitar lines. I am glad that they got back after they went to hiatus and did some other music projects because this new album proves that the guys still have dynamite in their bones. If you are into indie influenced and almost sad pop influenced great melodic punk then the songs like Get Mendoza or Room Down The Hallway are sure to become your favorites and I would recommend that you listen to this album couple of times and every time you will discover something new and cherishable for your pleasure.

(review) EVA RAS-Meni nije svejedno/It`s not whatever

a1795958671_10

It is time to support our own regional scene here on Balkans and EVA RAS released the new record, so I listened and reviewed it for our zine. Named after famous Yugoslav actress, painter and writer, this band plays darkened emotional hardcore mixed with powerviolence. There are 6 songs on this record and it represents the first half of a double e.p. The songs are short, in your face like they were supposed to be, chaotic yet beautiful in that chaos, giving away primal simplicity of decay, degradation and accepting the inevitable in fighting and recognising your inner self, your flaws and your virtues. The lyrics are in English and I can find myself in most of the songs, so it was really a pleasure to listen to this record.

(new video) Sunset Radio have a new video out for Givin´It Up!

41c35d10-4faa-4777-957e-ffcc1da4318e

“Givin’It Up” is the first single taken from the upcoming EP completely self-produced by Sunset Radio  and out in March 2020 via Pan Music Production (ITA), Seahorse Studio (ITA) and Far Channel Records (JAP). The video, directed by Filippo Cinotti, was shot in the Centurione Klan gym  in Ravenna and was born from a close collaboration between the band and the World Champion of Muay Thai Sveva Melillo, the protagonist in first person of the video.

“‘Givin’It Up’ is an invitation not to give up, not to give up in the face of the worst difficulties, to grit your teeth and fight, always” says the frontman Andrea Neri “Precisely for this reasonwe turned to Sveva to take part in the video as protagonist. We have our fears and often the latter are right inside ourselves but it’s not always easy to face them. Life hits hard, throws us to the ground day after day, but the important thing is to react, get up, because ‘for every bad day you’ll have there will always be a better one ‘”.

The song – like all the EP – was recorded at Seahorse Studio in Ravenna by Fabrizio Panbarco, and mixed  by the same at Pan Music Production in Turin. Many thanks to Sveva Melillo, Stefano Naldi, Gaia Martini and all the Centurione Klan Staff.
