Hoi-Poi, emotive punk/post hardcore band from Thessaloniki, GR (FFO: Title Fight, Hot Water Music, Sunny Day Real Estate), have just released their new single “Chief End”, taken from their upcoming album “Sain’t Adorable” that comes out on the 3rd of April 2020 via Nasty Cut Records. The song’s lyrics are about the sudden appearance of self-doubt in the shape of an apparition and the music perfectly reflects the album’s overall sound, in which keyboards and synths are in harmony with a mixture of raw post-hardcore riffage. “Chief End” is available on all streaming platforms, while the album will be available digitally as well as on vinyl, CD and cassette (available for pre-order on the band’s Bandcamp page).
Hoi-Poi is a four piece post-hardcore/emotive punk outfit from Thessaloniki, Greece. The band started off in early 2011 as a cover band trio and in August 2013 they released their first original EP, entitled “Powerhouse Dynamics”. After a streak of live shows, during the winter of 2015 they released their demo, “Happen”. After 9 months of independently recording, mixing and mastering their debut album titled “Forever Knows Best” at their DIY studio, they released it in December 2016. Two years later, in March 2018, the band released their latest mini album, “Dread and Vision”. During 2019, Hoi-Poi recorded their upcoming album, “Sain’t Adorable”, which was recorder and mixed by Jacopo Fokas (Despite Everything) at Villa Giuseppe Recordings in Athens and mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room in the US. The album will be released in April 2020 and it will be followed by an extended Greek tour with Forever Unclean (DK) and an EU tour in May.
