to live among wolves are coming from Rotterdam, Holland area and this is their new release.
There are 4 songs on this record. The music is basically hardcore punk, fast and rawer sounding in some parts, to break down to some modern hardcore moshing metalized influenced song parts, also some sludge and scream structures in the song guitar riffs and drumming can be heard here and there. The vocals are great, screaming and shouting, but also with some nice clean melodic vocals like in awesome Cursed Embrace, my favorite song on this record. But, other three are also nice dirty and raw, yet emotional and melodic piece of hardcore punk. I love this one. I am eager to see how the full length will sound like.
What do we get with this one? Well, we get 11 songs of emotional, heartfelt, sometimes harsh and bitter, yet melodic punkrock like we are used to from this fine band. I get the feeling this record is kinda more angry and more anguished then the last one, it must be sign of the times. I love They Burned Our Paintings, it is one of the highlights of this record, also the title songs, then two part Rose`s Hammer and also Utter Despair. The vocals are shouted and angry, yet fit perfectly with raw punk filled with melodic hooks and pure untamed energy in the fast paced songs, singalong backing vocals and streetpunk atmosphere. Good one.
Pee Records just released this split single by The Decline and Sic Waiting. This is a split charity digital single to raise money for international animal welfare organisation IFAW. It features both unreleased songs by both bands.
The Decline from Perth, Australia side is great with usual fast and energetic drums, guitars and fantastic vocal harmonies and awesome melody. Sic Waiting are from Oceanside, California and I must admit that I have never listened to this band prior to this record, now I will corect that mistake. Their song is beautiful nineties inspired melodic skate hardcore punk with nice melody. So, go support the great cause and buy this one.
