Hangtime are hailing from Toronto, Canada and their new e.p. is for sure one of the contenders for best melodic punk record of this fucked up shitty gig and festival free year. The production is awesome, fantastic guitars with catchy yet simple riffs just make you smile upon listening and that smile doesn´t come off your face all through the day long after you finished listening to the record for the fifth time in the row. Songs like Too Many Days, My Only One or my personal favorite Start All Over don´t offer anything revolutionary new or special, but this is a lesson how you can do quality and energetic sing along pop punk/melodic punkrock without too much philosophy, just sweet vocals, great backing vocal harmonies and superb songwriting. I heartily recommend this one to all of you who love your punkrock driving, melodic, with personal lyrics that anyone can relate to and sing along with for days. Fantastic!

(review) ZOMBIESUCKERS-HUNT YOU DOWN

Halloween and that special time of the year is close, so more and more horrorpunk is featured on the pages of this zine. This time, our Sweden favorite horrorpunk band Zombiesuckers delivered their new e.p.

Everyone who loves horrorpunk will find here what they are looking for. That means ultra melodic yet harsh punk riffs backed by clever use of keyboards that add to the atmosphere of old school horror movies, lots of ooohs and aaahs for singing along to backing vocal harmonies and some nice metal influences in guitar riffs and last but not least, gore soaked lyrics filled with horror.

The vocals are superb, avoiding the trap that some young horrorpunk bands do, that being bad clones of Danzig˙s voice, no, this guy sings with such superb voice being fantastic part of the songs. My personal favorites of these five songs are the title song, Hotel and Demons.

Fantastic, like we are used to from this horror from the north!

Dutch punk rock bands Ink Bomb and No Breakfast Goodbye were in the studio for new recordings last weekend. Drum tracks for these new recordings have already been completed. Both bands are recording three new songs at Fiction Studio, Ink Bomb guitarist Quirijn Foeken’s studio. The way in which the songs will be released will be announced later.

Ink Bomb front person Joost Hoedemaeckers: “We have used this time of lock down and social distancing to write new material. We had ample time since all shows have been canceled! Even before the corona crisis we wanted to cooperate with our friends in No Breakfast Goodbye. When we were both planning recordings it was an easy choice to combine our plans.”
No Breakfast Goodbye singer and guitarist Simon Janssen adds: “It’s cool that we as punk bands from our hometown of Nijmegen can work together like this. This way we can support and reinforce each others efforts. We’re looking forward to our future release plans!”
