(review) Roraima -WR

South America has beautiful and unexplored underground scene and now it is time for Roraima from Venezuela to grace the pages of this webzine. This entity has been active since 2014 and this is their third full length opus. What to expect here? This one offers 13 songs of epic, atmospheric black metal with touches of folk and post black metal here and there in the song structures. From the acoustic beginning intro of El Alma De La Montana music evolves into no compromise and no holds barred in your face black metal blast beats of Waraira Repano, being fast song with aggressive guitar work and screaming vocals yet somehow having in its core the spirit of early Ulver or similar Norge black metal from nineties and I love it, because not many bands are able to create such atmosphere nowadays. Roraima have such amazing sad melodies and melancholy bordering with free black metal spirit and take me to other dimension while listening to the record. Vocals also transform into clean and melodic singing when needed and do it great, courtesy of singer T.Rodriguez, half of this duet, second half being Geiver Camacaro. There are also some folk bm influences and post bm almost doom like vibe in La Furia De La Tormenta (Part I) with rolling drums and void and cold melodies. You will have to discover your personal favorite on this one. I know I did mine.

Cirith Ungol released new song taken off the brand new e.p. of re-recorded rarities!

169800592_292182445603960_9147179207269571572_n

The globe was ravaged by pandemic in the wake of the release of Cirith Ungol’s triumphant reunion album, “Forever Black”, in April 2020. As time stood still, the band dug deep into their archival crypts, drawing back the veiled mists of history to expose long-forgotten jewels from their storied past. In so doing, the band exhumed four songs written in a bygone era but never properly included as part of their fabled discography. Cirith Ungol swept the dust off these precious relics, summoning long-dead forces back to life. Each song was reimagined for today, injected with a fresh dose of power and vitality while preserving their trademark mysticism and remaining drenched in sinister, apocalyptic energy. Recorded under the watchful eye of producer Armand John Anthony (Night Demon / Bewitcher / Gygax) in the darkness of 2020, Half Past Human promises to be a treasured addition to the music collections of Cirith Ungol’s loyal legions. In keeping with tradition, the package is completed by stunning cover art courtesy of acclaimed fantasy artist Michael Whelan, from the original Elric series.

Florida’s Kill The Imposter Introduce Chaotic Deathcore w/ Two Videos Off – The Violence Sessions!

Kill The Imposter is an in-your-face, no-holds-barred deathcore onslaught hailing from Orlando, USA. They have a new album coming out in May of 2021 and it promises violence, rage, and a monstrous barrage of breakdowns, screams, riffs, and blast beats.

“The Violence Sessions” is a seven-track album, and the third released from the band following “The Decimation” (2019), and “A Strain Of Agony” (2020). The upcoming offering is pure chaotic energy, something that current fans will recognize and new fans will revel in.

Already, Kill The Imposter has released two music videos for the tracks “Mace” and “Suffer Alone”. “Mace” is likely the only political song the band will ever write, but the takeaway of it is, think for yourselves. People, who have no allegiance to you, are not the people you should be listening to. “Suffer Alone” was written for vocalist Johnny Nobody’s ex-wife as he explains himself:

“I didn’t know a better way to describe the way I felt at my worst with her. I took the idea from the movie “300’ when Leonidas tells the traitor “I hope you live forever”.” He continues to share his thoughts on the full album, “we cannot wait for the fans to get their hands on it, the music is just getting tighter and more violent with each song. The more we work together the better these hits are turning out”

Violent and tight, Kill The Imposter is the remedy for a hard day or the encouragement you need at the gym, they are recommended for fans of Hatebreed, Alpha Wolf, and Dealer.
