New bands announced for SBÄM Fest 4!

The question marks in our line-up have caused a lot of guesswork and the most interesting conjectures in the last months. Now the time has come to reveal at least one secret and in the process announce both bad and good news: Yes, it would have been Bad Religion … the emphasis is unfortunately on “would have been”, because the punk veterans unfortunately have to cancel. But this bad news is immediately followed by good news, because we have found a worthy replacements and also add three more bands on top!

Pennywise
For more than 30 years, the bros from Hermosa Beach have defended their status as the most important hardcore band from the second wave of SoCal punk. Known and loved for their relentless sound and middle-finger anthems that guarantee the loudest singalongs at SBÄM Fest.

Bridge City Sinners
Hailing from the mist-shrouded hills of the Pacific Northwest, Bridge City Sinners span the spectrum from Prohibition-era jazz to Appalachian death folk. Don’t miss this explosive mix of genres at SBÄM Fest either!

The Von Tramps

With powerhouse vocals from Jenny Enemy, screaming guitar riffs from Chelsea Oxborough and thunderous bass from Krissandra Anfinson, The Von Tramps‘ second album “GO” is already the must-have of the year. On top, the trio delivers an incredible live show that will also make a sensation at SBÄM Fest.

The Partie
As support of Acht Eimer Hühnerherzen in April 2022 Die Partie has already proven that they are a live banger. Smart punk in German between rock and acoustic straight outta Linz, which you should definitely check out at SBÄM Fest.

Organizer Stefan Beham about SBÄM Fest 4:
We had to postpone SBÄM Fest 4 a total of four times due to Covid-19 – that was pretty tough and painful each time. All the more, I’m looking forward to finally being able to put all our plans into action in 2022. And we have quite a lot planned: In addition to the great line-up, for which fans are even traveling from Australia, we have come up with two side actions to offer the audience a bit more. My youth hero Steve Caballero will be part of SBÄM Sports and in the context of the SBÄM Exhibit I will present my works together with other artists, with which everything actually started. After the past years at the Alter Schlachthof in Wels, the step to the Tabakfabrik in Linz is of course big, but our community is also getting bigger and bigger and I have the best team to make it all happen. We can’t wait for July!

(review) No Restraints – Stand Our Ground(Demons Run Amok Entertainment)

I always loved street core, since I was a little hardcore kid growing up, with all those great hardcore bands coming out leaning more on street punk than on metal in their hardcore cookbooks hehe. This is one of such bands. No Restraints are based in Vercelli, north west Italy and they are relatively new band in the scene with this full length album and it contains 12 songs of excellent street hardcore punk based and leaning heavily on OI/street punk and I am amazed that every song on this record is basically an anthem that makes you full with hardcore energy and strength, makes you sing along and listen to it over and over again. Songs such as Streetcore Worldwide, The Flame Still Burns or They Will Never Get Us are sure to become instant classics. Musically this band reminds me of best Agnostic Front, Warzone, Discipline works but they remain also fresh and ready for this new century and decade. Vocals are angry, more of hardcore shouted but fit perfectly to the music and there are plenty of backing and gang vocals to sing along. Lyrics deal with surviving, battling your enemy, loving your friends, unity and all hardcore themes I still love so much. I enjoy every single minute of this record. Excellent!
