Dead Dog Summer released a new video for ‘Diamonds and Thorns’!

Croatian post-hardcore band Dead Dog Summer is announcing their collaboration with Geenger Records with the first single and video for ‘Diamonds and Thorns’ from their debut album ‘A Place of Someday’, which will be released in September this year.

The band recorded the material in their own rehearsal space, and Ivan Jakić from the Kut Sobe studio was taking care of the mix and master. The video was shot in the club Prostor in their hometown Čakovec, and Alex Drvenkar, better known as Air Alex, was in charge of filming and editing.

‘Diamonds and Thorns’ is a story about taking things and people for granted and denying the reality we live in, about constantly spinning around and waiting for things in life to improve on their own, and the fear that holds us back from taking the first step to happiness.

Dead Dog Summer is a relatively young band on the Croatian scene, founded in late 2020, and band members are Igor Bistrovic on vocals and guitar, Kreso Zerjav on bass and vocals, and Boris Strahija on drums. The band is currently preparing a promo tour for the fall of 2022, which should cover Croatia and surrounding countries.

The song and the video is available on all streaming platforms via Geenger Records.–> https://geenger.link/deaddogsummer-diamondsandthorns

(review) A Dance in Yellow – Madness and Blood

A Dance in Yellow is a one man band or project if you want, hailing from Germany. This opus is the second full length and it contains intro and outro plus nine more stories told as songs. The music of A Dance in Yellow is basically melodic death black metal with lost of prog metal influences here and there and impressive musicianship, especially guitar work and vocals which range from death metal growling to black metal extreme singing and screeching, also some almost gothic singing I can hear in some song parts. Lyrical side of things is somehwere in Robert W.Chambers and H.P.Lovecraft influenced atmosphere of horror and listening to this one almost made me physically feel the cosmic horror and ancient ones lurking upon mankind. Atmosphere is vital with endeavors like this opus and here A Dance in Yellow manage to create a horror like prey upon unsuspecting individual listening to this opus. So, close your eyes, open your darkened hearts and souls, look to the sky, see the stars aligned and enter the world of bleak darkness and pain, but also enlightenment. Personal favorites: Fire and Steel, Born of the Ancients, Torn Apart.

8/10
