(recenzija) OSA- Zzzzzzzzzzz (Dostava Zvuka)

Evo i dugoočekivanog novog album One Step Away, odnosno OSA. No, stvar se popravi kad krene brzi dio druge polovice pjesme. No, ima nekoliko stvari koje me nisu baš impresionirale. Preporuka. Preslušaj i nađi svoje favorite.

Punk rockers Topsy Turvy’s have just shared a third single from their new album due January 13th on Krod Records.

The idea that every day is worth living is hard to grasp when the days are really crappy. There is good to be learned from everything, but it’s often easier and more comforting to dwell on the bad.

If sometimes you need a little push to get the sun back out, then Topsy Turvy’s new single may be the background vibe for all the perfect days to come!
It’s the third single from their new album It Can’t Be Easy which will be released digitally on January 13, 2023.

About the band

TOPSY TURVY’S is a melodic punk rock band, with double male and female vocals, born in 2008 in Poitiers (France).

Their influences range from the melodic hardcore of the 90’s, to the more modern indie punk, through the emo wave of the late 90’s to early 2000’s. Their sound is full of pop melodies, with melancholic sounds sometimes, and a communicative energy most of the time.

After more than 300 concerts in Europe and around the world (26 countries) and the release of 3 albums (EPs) and 3 splits on many independent labels of the punk rock scene (in Europe, Japan & the United States), they continue to tour and share their music wherever they can, while developing a DIY approach and a political questioning around their music practice.

(book) Harley Flanagan – Hardcore Life Of My Own

Well, there is is. Finally. I remember when I interviewed Zach from Pears five years ago, he told me that Harley Flanagan is genuine epitome of hardcore punk, one of the rare guys that lived through all that he sang about and still sings about. I love Cro-Mags, their first two albums (Age of Quarrel and Best Wishes are an unavoidable milestones of NYHC). I remember when I first saw that video for We Gotta Know, I was scared of this beast of bass player, tattooed and vicious skinhead. I eagerly sought for this book until I finally obtained it and now it is a proud part of my collection and probably one of the top three books I have read this year.

Harley is, like Vinnie Stigma, Jimmy Gestapo, Roger Miret, Raybeez and couple of other guys, true O.G. of NYHC, founder of Cro-Mags and this book says it all, from his childhood and drumming as a 12 year old for his aunt´s punk band Stimulators, across founding Cro-Mags and all the battles and fights, early NY skinheads, founding of the scene and all the stories. But, what fascinates the most are stories about all the fights, drug abuse, Lower East Side and all the dirty mischief Harley has been through and I am sure he would have at least one more book to tell about all of the misadventures and literally blood, sweat, drugs and beatings.

This book is a punch in your face, hardcore and street punk tour de force. I recommend it to all hardcore people throughout the world.
