Time for one more band from my regional scene to grace the pages of this zine. Namely, SMRT RAZUMA. This is their brand new full length album and what a mighty debut it is. Recorded and mixed in Studio Depth, sound of the album only proves what great work File does with his recordings. Back to the album. This one contains intro plus 10 songs in Croatian language. Music of SMRT RAZUMA reminds me a bit of a band from Osijek called Sekta, who also mixed a lot of thrash metal guitar work with hardcore punk and d beat roots. If I must compare it to some band it would be a mixture of Verbalni delikt (their second release) and Sekta, which is no wonder since vocal Kruno is a long time scene fighter, I still remember AB Nekultura hehe. Songs are fast with screaming raw brutal vocals, yet you can understand what is being sung, of course if you know Croatian hehe. But, beneath all brutality and smartly written lyrics about media manipulation, poverty, migrants, war and I approve and love when band uses some samples like from news, games, movies and similar for intro of songs. My personal favorites are Bombe naše žrtve vaše, Medijska manipulacija, Stid i bol. Mighty debut indeed! I am sorry to say, but I did not check them out live yet, but I will soon!

(book review) Lonely Boy – Tales from a Sex Pistol
I admit that punk rock 77 style and all those early bands except maybe Damned are not my thing, nor they have ever been. I grew up into more of California skate punk and hardcore bands, and all that British punk legends were just too boring and slow with their punk rock anthems and disgusting vocals, like Johhny Rotten, singer of Sex Pistols, his goat like singing is still something that makes me puke.
So, I decided to learn more and get this book, written by guitarist of Sex Pistols, one of the most known and legendary first wave punk bands ever. In this book, he deals with his life, from upbringing as poor boy, lonely and abused, to playing with Pistols and all the wild years of punk, drugs and rock n roll, to his later work and bringing himself up from the gutter to host popular radio show and deliver some solo work and guest guitar playing to some of the biggest rock stars. Book is divided into three parts, before Pistols, during and after. What I do mind about this man is total rock star attitude, spitting on all punk ideals and proclaiming that all punks who stick to the ideals and free philosophy are losers and that all is about money and nothing is about music. The guy is obnoxious, full of himself and I totally dislike him. But, like they say, never trust a junkie, huh? Okay book about an asshole who has illusions of grandeur.
German skate punks Hit The Dirt release music video for their cover of ‘White Christmas’!
These German pricks again? Unfortunately so! Our favourite Berlin skate punkers have created a cover of “White Christmas” just in time for the holiday season! The new single dropped on December 16 and the video went live a couple days after.
Here’s what the guys had to say about the song: “We are big fans of Bad Religions EP called Christmas songs, so we kind of got inspired during a rehearsal and thought: should we do a punk rock cover of a Christmas song? It’s a fun thing to do, so we decided to cover our own version of White Christmas. Like Fat Mike says, we just took a good song and made it fast! Enjoy and Merry Punk Rock Christmas!
