Death Reich are hailing from Sweden, being active in the scene since 2018 and this is their second e.p. opus out with Non Serviam Records.
This one contains four songs plus one Entombed cover. You guessed it, Death Reich are playing old school death metal with no holds barred blast beat aggression, growling vocals, blistering guitar solos and some d beat and subtle melody thrown in here and there only to remind they play Swedish death metal. Yet, the music of Death Reich also leans heavily into American school of death metal, Floridian masters a la Morbid Angel, Deicide come to mind immediately, also mixed with their own Swedish old school sound. Of the songs, my personal favorites are The Creator and also The Night Will Fall. Now, these guys released two e.p.-s, now it the time for full length opus and I am sure it will be a lesson in death metal.
Italy has such great and vast underground and extreme music scene and I really enjoy discovering new bands that I learn about and have a listen. Band inspired obviously by actor Steve Buscemi, called Buscemi’s Eyes released this four song e.p. Song called Dirty Talking is fast and in your face old school hardcore punk reminding me a bit of Minor Threat and similar bands, having that hardcore energy, melody and vibe that I still love after all these years. Band continues in more fast punk rock vein with Ghost World and sounding almost rock n roll song in some parts delivering punch in your face, short and sweet. Fast mayhem continues with another banger, my favorite Meat Grinder and it just reminded me how I would like to see this band live, deliver all that awesome hardcore energy. The title song finishes the e.p. as it started, melodic, aggressive and superb with some samples of master Buscemi himself as I understand hehe.
This is relatively new band on Croatian punk scene but members of kiselly have been playing in Grupa tvog života and Gužva u 16-ercu for decades, so they have experience in playing melodic punk rock. This e.p. contains five songs in Croatian language binding music these guys played in former bands yet somehow reminding me more of Grupa tvog života vocalists/guitarists Mrak former band. The songs are in Croatian, but although they have lots of humor and real life in the lyrics, they also represent all the bullshit politics and corruption from this region where we live right now, especially east of Croatia where these guys are originally from. Mitomanija and Živjeti primitivno are real examples for that. My personal favorites are cover Sedam dana s Kristinom, hehe and Momak mlad. I can’t wait to see these guys play live and full length album. This is great debut album.
