(new single-melodic hardcore)RESOLVE ‘Carmela’ New Single out now on Red Toad Music!

Ever since the public reveal in February 2017 of Resolve’s debut single Exposed, the Lyon, France based quartet has been eager to show their peer that they won’t settle for anything but greatness.  Their strong work ethic and attention to details allowed them to open shows for Architects, Every Time I Die, While She Sleeps to name a few, all of that within the first few months of the band’s stammering career.

The four boys spent the rest of their first year as a band touring their home country as well as Europe and the UK, and unveiled music videos one after the other, fulfilling their initial plan of releasing a fully watchable record.

Summer of 2018 saw the release of another EP, Stripped Down Session, offering a different take on some of the songs from ‘Reverie‘, as well as their own interpretation of the classic Foo Fighters song ‘Best of You’. But this little acoustic venture was just a prelude to the imminent release of Resolve’s new lead single, the melody-driven Carmela, a testimony to the band’s everlasting drive to push further their creative horizon.

This new track is called ‘Carmela’ and was written after the passing of our vocalist’s grandmother, Carmela Diliberto. More than a mourning song, the whole theme for it was the impact someone can have on your life, the ‘passing of the torch’ and the fear of yourself not leaving any lasting trace on your loved ones life.

When I’m gone, will someone miss me as much as I miss you?’

This is without a doubt the hardest we’ve ever worked on a single song, trying new things and aiming for different horizons, as well as doing everything ourselves, from the mixing to the video-making.

Ink Bomb sells acoustic Against Me! cover for charity

For the third year in a row, Dutch punk band Ink Bomb will sell an acoustic cover for charity. This year the band choose the song “Black Me Out” from American punk rock band Against Me!. The song will be released on December 7 and is for sale for 3 euros. All proceeds will be donated to OutRight Action International, an LGBTIQ organization.

Choice
OutRight Action International is an organization that documents violations of human rights and abuse against people because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. They also engage in human rights advocacy with partners around the globe. Ink Bomb’s choice for this organization is clear: “Human rights are under pressure worldwide. In this way we want to contribute to the important work that OutRight Action International, in collaboration with local organizations, does.”

“Because Against Me is fronted by a transwoman, we thought this song was a good match with this charity. Moreover, Against Me! is a band we admire because of their blend of great songs and poignant subject matter. ”

Acoustic donation projects 2016 and 2017
This is the third time Ink Bomb sells an acoustic cover for charity. Last year, the punk rockers covered the 80’s hit Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper for the Surf Project. In 2016, they covered the punk classic Nothing With You by the Descendents. The proceeds then were donated to the Clothing Bank Nijmegen.

(record review)DAVE HAUSE-September Haze

Dave Hause is much respected American punkrock song author and singer. This is his new record which I listened and reviewed for this zine.

514385

Besides playing in his own band The Loved Ones, he also worked as roadie for Sick Of It All and The Bouncing Souls, but his solo career is what made him respected and loved in the ears of the punkrock fans. This nice record contains 5 songs which were in the beginning thought out as a core for the new full length record, but they made it out as an e.p. The music is atmospheric, melodic acoustic punk with a lot of heart, soul and emotion thrown in. Dave˙s voice is wonderful and in combination with music gives a unique soundscape perspective. There are three new songs on the record, in my opinion Steady Now being the best of the three new ones. Also, there is an acoustic version of Shaky Jesus and the cover song by Brandi Carlile. In all, this record is great for closing your eyes and traveling into another, colourful, melodic and music world for at least 20 minutes.
