German Black Metal Horde GRAU Delivers Bestial Vision of Nihilism with New Single “Fraß” Off Upcoming Album “Abseits Des Lichts”!

Saarbrücken-based black metal band GRAU has shared a new single called “Fraß”, taken from the album “Abseits Des Lichts”, out on December 1st via Tragedy Productions. The album will be available as digipak with an 8-pages booklet, plus streaming and download on the main digital platforms.

Along its almost 10 minutes, “Fraß” unleashes the band’s fury against the dishonor that wears people down, to the point of making their flesh putrid. GRAU’s vision of humanity is of a herd of animals whose flesh is corroded by nihilism and moral misery.

The album title “Abseits des Lichts” can be roughly translated as “outside of the light“. It describes the lyrical approach of the songs that deal with pain, emptiness and the animalistic aspect of the human mind. Musically, GRAU has taken a more modern and complex approach since its debut release and covers the complete range from sinister doom parts to mid-tempo grooves and shredding blast beats.

Abseits des Lichts” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Felix Rößger at Gin’Fused Sounds over the course of several months in 2022 and 2023. All songs written and performed by GRAU. All lyrics by K.D. and M.K. The song “Fiebertraum” was composed by Christoph Rieff. Album cover designed by Alfi Feijoa. Original photo taken by House of Fortitude.

Half Me release new single ‘Concrete Ceiling’

German metal quintet Half Me have released new single ‘Concrete Ceiling’, the first new music since their highly acclaimed debut album SOMA, out earlier this year via Arising Empire.

Half Me made a striking entry into the heavy music world with their highly acclaimed debut album SOMA, blending metal, hardcore, and experimental styles. Their distinct sound, marked by powerful riffs and reflective lyrics, garnered immediate acclaim and a loyal following. Now they are back and more heated than ever.

New single ‘Concrete Ceiling’ targets inequality on a worldwide scale. No moralising, no bullsh*t, no holding back. It paves the way for a new directive, visceral and raw in words and sound.

Formed in Hamburg in 2018, Half Me – guitarists Chris and Julius, vocalist Chris, drummer Max and bassist Tobias – are one of the latest additions to the Arising Empire roster. Musically, Half Me blend a modern rendition of metal and hardcore with highlights of 90s nu-metal. Pounding riffs and breakdowns are accompanied by brutal, yet sometimes elegant, vocals that all balance together to formulate the band’s own distinctive sound.

In the space of just two years, Half Me have made an impact in the music scene by self-producing their music and videos, displaying their intensive and energetic demeanour. Debuting with four singles initially, it was their their single ‘Exitwound’ (featuring Jack Bergin of Void of Vision) that gave the group a breakthrough and landed the band in the spotlight of Knotfest’s Countdown to Oblivion.

Riding the high of their recent success, Half Me’s highly anticipated debut album SOMA was met with huge critical acclaim. 2024 promises to be a big year or this firey quintet.

Half Me are:

Christopher Zühlke | vocals

Christopher Hesse | guitar

Julius Jansen | guitar

Tobias Max Sajons | bass

Maximilian Eisersdorff | drums

Mad Caddies release new single “Palm Trees and Pines”

Mad Caddies are one of the leading bands in ska and reggae punk. Their long career has taken them to all corners of the world. Now the time has come for the Caddies to travel to new shores with the release of their new album ‘Arrows Room 117’ which is being released jointly by SBÄM Records (Europe) and 55 Rose Reccords (USA). ‘Arrows Room 117’ is the band’s first album since 2018’s “Punk Rocksteady.”

SBÄM has recently just made with their biggest festival to date and work on a 90s punk rock documentary, and has already managed bands like Pulley in their roster. Together with 55 Rose Records, an Orange County-based music label founded by John Barrett, they sign the eighth Mad Caddies Album for 2024.

‘Palm Trees & Pines’ is a classic feel-good Caddies number that’s “been proven to get the kids moving,” says the band. The timeless melodies and dynamic rhythmic punches make it a shoo-in for the first single off ‘Arrows Room 117’.

“Palms and Pines encompasses all things California that I hold dear.”, says singer and band founder Chuck Robertson.

“This album is very personal for me,” elaborates Robertson. “It represents 3 years of hard work back in the woodshed, while half the world stood still. During these strange times I tapped into a new source of creativity and shared new experiences with new friends and great musicians. This body of work and these songs showcase pain and betrayal, love and loss and the bright light of new beginnings.”

“Arrows Room 117” will be released on SBÄM and 55 Rose Records in 2024.
