Brutal Assault thickens lineup with 13 new bands and Norwegian icon SATYRICON

They haven’t performed live in five years, and haven’t appeared in the Fortress since 2016. They’ve always forged their own unique path to the previously unexpressed. And since they have a new album scheduled for May 2024, it’s clear that we have to have them at Brutal 2024 – SATYRICON in the summer after 8 years in the Fortress!

The line-up of the currently 31 confirmed bands for Brutal #27 is expanded by another thirteen new bands. Among the most anticipated acts will surely be the return of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER without Trevor Strnad (RIP), while death metal fans should also be pleased by the return of classics BROKEN HOPE, the slamming PARTY CANNON or the old-schools SKELETAL REMAINS, LIK and SNĚŤ.

After 10 years, the deathcore sextet WHITECHAPEL will return to Josefov, while metalcore purists will be delighted by DARKEST HOUR, who in the mid-90s stood – e.g. together with Lamb of God – at the revival of American metal. The extreme MENTAL CRUELTY, on the other hand, will rock the fortress with symphonically tuned blackened deathcore, while GUILT TRIP with a mix of metal and hardcore.

The final trio of bands in the update are Slovakian “crusters” ČAD, speed/heavy/thrash frontrunners EVIL INVADERS and KAMPFAR with their 30th anniversary set.

The festival will once again take place in Josefov, an 18th century military fortress, in the second week of August from 7 to 10 August 2024 and will feature over 130 bands from around the world.
