Norwegian extreme metal band :BOLVERK: drops the teaser of their second album, ‘Svarte Sekunder,’ set to be unleashed on May 26, 2023, through Wormholedeath.
‘Svarte Sekunder’ features nine tracks, including eight :BOLVERK: originals and a stunning cover of Jonas Fjeld’s ‘The Bells are Ringing for You Now.’ It can be seen as the twin or at least a ‘cousin’ of last year’s debut album ‘Uaar’. The majority of the songs were written during the same period, and while we can sense that the band has grown with this new release, the underlying philosophy of both albums remains the same.
The album’s title, ‘Svarte Sekunder,’ which means ‘black seconds’ in English, was initially about those moments when one falls over and thinks they are dead. However, it evolved into exploring the concept of thanatosis and how people and animals play dead. It may even be about those moments on the album that are actually black metal. According to the band, ‘The title has spun away from us now and lives a life on its own…’
:BOLVERK: is: Christopher “Rammr” Rakkestad (Elvarhøi, Jordskip, ex. Ragnarok) Lucass “Yautja” Edquist (Gnida, ex. Mork) Bjørn “Narrenschiff” Holter (ex. Images at Twilight, ex. Illnath, ex. Aasmegin) Thomas Bolverk (Under the Oak, Welcome to Hell, ex. Ragnarok, ex. Images at Twilight, ex. Darkness, ex. Black Currant etc…) Fans can follow :BOLVERK: on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BolverkBandNorwaywww.facebook.com/ThomasBolverk
When the jack-of-all-trades Rogga Johansson gets ready to launch a new project, you can be sure to deal with the very essence of Swedish death metal. With ASTROPHYTE, the Swedish together with Fredrik Petersson is now preparing to send his next horse into the race with the new album ‘2192′. Originally planned for May, the full-length, which is based on the role-playing game Mutant Chronicles World, will finally see the light of day on the 30th of June. With a big news: with Indii Hofvander, who already had a guest appearance on the Furnace album ‘Stellarum‘, a haunting, almost pleading, female voice characterises large parts of the music – and thus, besides Mike Hubrovcak‘s growls, contributes significantly to the oppressive atmosphere of the album. You can expect 9 songs, shaped by the typical Nordic death metal of the ’90s. Stay tuned!
