(review) Hateful Monday – The Freak Parade e.p.

cover

Hateful Monday from Switzerland were already represented on the pages of this zine when I featured the review of their live record. This time, the guys released their new two songs e.p. The title song is phenomenal, sounds like a cross between Bad Religion, No Use For A Name with fantastic chorus just made for singing along full of harmonies and energy. Fast and awesome song! Dark Sunday is nineties skatepunk influenced song, sounding a bit melancholic in main melody, fast drumming and nice lyrics. I love this band. Hope some more new music comes anytime soon!

(review) The Lillingtons – Can Anybody Hear Me? (A Tribute To Enemy You)

cover

Mighty The Lillingtons released a new e.p. as tribute to Enemy You and their fallen brother. I must say that I did not listen to Enemy You prior to this record and this is a revelation. There are six songs on this one, all being fantastic and this music fits perfectly to The Lillingtons style and Kody Templeman´s voice is so great singing these anthems. Songs like Hopes And Dreams, Awake and Automaton are my personal favorites. So, if you love Ramonescore, fast punkrock with melody and epic hooks and choruses, this is the right one for ya. Touching and nice tribute to the fallen brother. Go get this one.

(review) Rise Against – Nowhere Generation

cover

Rise Against are back with new album. This time they offer eleven songs of melodic hardcore punk with smart political and personal lyrics like we are used to from Tim McIlrath and the gang. Songs are epic, energetic, quickly changing pace from fast hardcore influenced more old school oriented song structures to more gentle and atmospheric almost pop punk parts in some of the songs. The Numbers, Nowhere Generation, Talking To Ourselves and Monarch are sure about to win you over if you are not a fan of Rise Against you will be, if you are you will love this one like all other albums from this legendary band. Unfortunately I did not see this band live yet, but would love to, hopefully that happens some time in the near future.
