(movie) Violent Cop(1989.)-another jewel in the crown of Japanese movies.

Violent Cop(1989.) is a directorial and acting debut of Japanese legend Takeshi Kitano. This movie makes Clint Eastwood and his Dirty Harry little baby compared to police inspector Azuma(Kitano), who does not speak many words, but deals with everything in special and violent way, not making any compromises in delivering what he thinks is right, but also dancing permanently at some edge of lawful behavior and having problems with his boss. When he and his colleagues investigate drug related murder, his best friend, also policeman kills himself. Azuma takes matter in his own hands to avenge his best buddy and deliver justice. This is very violent movie which has some really nice death scenes of graphic gore, like baseball bat in the skull, teenager girl shot in the head, bloody murder. But, it is also poetic story of one individual different than others, an individual who does what he thinks is right and justice in the corrupt system and therefore I will not spoil it to you further, only that you watch this movie until its poetic and beautiful ending. Great one by the legend!

Sun-0-Bathers are in no way strangers to Kraykulla webzine, we already featured them on the pages of this zine, with a review and a featured single, so we know what to expect when their new record comes out and that is fantastic melodic skatepunk from Holland, that is just what we got with Floater, their new record out with Morning Wood Records.

This new record contains 7 songs of beautiful, mainly fast paced skatepunk with superb guitar riff melodies, awesome vocals and just as fantastic backing vocal harmonies which I love so much when listening to this music. Concerning the songs, they are even better than the last release, catchy and energetic, with Locals Only and Huntington Beach Resort, also Done With You being my personal favorites. If you are into nice and energetic melodic punk music, go get this one.

(review) Disbaja-Prošlost sadašnjosti/History of now

Here is the third album by Disbaja, band nominally from Zagreb, Croatia, although I think none of the current line-up originates from there, but that really doesn`t matter, does it?

Recorded again at studio Depth, this record contains 12 songs, two being kind of intro and outro with lyrics in Croatian language. For those who don˙t know, Disbaja plays hardcore punk with thrash and d-beat thrown in for good measure and thus creating one very dark, almost thing you can feel and touch. The lyrics are inner, personal, but having that political balance and touch if you read between the lines of personal. Kinda like watching the current state of Croatia and the world from your inner self. I love faster songs like Bježi si s puta, but slower, sludgy ones are really outstanding gems on this record, songs like Matrica or Propast(Moj je spas) with epic beginning turning into blistering fast d-beat, which shows the true playing strength of this band and how tight they became in musicianship and songwriting during the years. This is definitely Disbaja˙s best work yet.
