(record review)Clockwork Psycho-“The Hated”(Diablo Records)

Clockwork Psycho had done so much in relatively small time. With their hard work, DIY ethics and fanatical devotion, they became one of the most appreciated psychobilly or punkabilly bands in Europe. They toured an awesome amount of time, played almost all the important psychobilly and punkrock festivals but at the same time they kept the punk roots in their music. I last heard and saw them live about almost two months ago when they played with Michale Graves in Zagreb and back then I was astonished with an great amount of energy they delivered in their new songs. Finally, this is their new album, out on Diablo Records, so I listened to it and reviewed it for this webzine.

The record contains 12 songs. In my opinion, this is the most versatile Clockwork Psycho album until now. Besides always having the trademark Clockwork Psycho vibe, there are some surf influences for example in “Corpse Collector”, or awesome ska in “Bootstomp Man” and rockabilly in “Sin & Repent”. What I always liked about this trio is how much they enjoy their playing and enjoy when people appreciate what they do. Singer Lilith sounds better than ever, sometimes shouting angry like a fiendette from Hell, sometimes singing melodic like a fallen angel. Guitaris Al and drummer Marko are also singing and the three of them complete each other perfectly. For me the best songs on the album are “Knife Edge Mind”, “Lost”, “In the Pines” and above mentioned “Bootstomp Man”. Excellent album!

(record review)AUTHORITY ZERO-“Rythm and Booze III”

If you read this webzine and are a fan of melodic punk hardcore with some reggae thrown in for good measure you know AUTHORITY ZERO. I saw this band live for the first time in Slovenia at Punk Rock Holiday 1.6 two years ago and was blown by their music and energy! The guys released their new album “Broadcasting to the Nations” on the mighty Bird Attack Records in 2016.which was reviewed in this webzine and dubbed one of the best punk albums that year! This time the guys did something different with their new album and I listened and reviewed it for this webzine, so check this out!

The new album is in fact a live album with the music of Authority Zero played in acoustic, unplugged way! This is the band´s third live album and first they self released! The album contains 14 songs and it was awesome to hear those songs done arranged in a bit different way than you can hear on their records! Although this is an acoustic album you can feel the energy deriving from their live show, the energy I felt for the first time when I saw them live two years ago and that energy made me fall in love with this band. Many bands do live acoustic albums only to fullfill their contracts with the label or to make some extra money but that is not the case with Authority Zero. Get this awesome album and check it out!

(record review)THE MONSTER ONES-“Bat Thunder”

You know, dear reader, that the love between us, the makers of this webzine and horrorpunk is everlasting and will never die! So, this time we present you THE MONSTER ONES, horrorpunk band from Palma De Mallorca, Spain. I listened and reviewed their new album for this webzine.

Existing since 2008.this Spaniards mix their vision of horrorpunk with glam rock, rockabilly and deathrock influences in their music, but fuck it, it´s mainly horrorpunk. These four guys and one girl delivered a real powerhouse of the album with tight musicianship, strong songs and not sounding like anyone´s clone and that is often a problem within horrorpunk scene. The album contains 11 songs with the titles like “Slasher” or “Body Snatchers” you just can´t go wrong! This music is not for the fans of straightforward simple in your face horrorpunk like The Misfits or Blitzkid, this is tougher, rocking horrorpunk made for wrecking with spilled beer all over you and another beer in your fist! “Funnel of Love” is cover by Wanda Jackson and the singer Cecile did a really wonderful job with her strong but melodic voice and she reminded me a bit of Krista Kat from Silver Shine. This is a good album, so support the guys and write them a line or two and buy their album if you are a fan of such music!
