Now, with the revived lineup Shadow Windhawk & The Morticians released the new single from the forthcoming 3rd studio album – “The Funeral Cortège”. Out on CD in August 2018 from Black Flame Records. The single “Borgo Pass” is an awesome piece of darkened horrorpunk and you can listen to it below:

(record review)The Bastards-“Return To The Earth”(Ukulele Horror Records)

Are you ready for some acoustic horrorpunk? The acoustic in this genre gives a special atmosphere to the songs and bands, and though I am not a great fan of acoustic punk, horrorpunk sounds great when it is done acoustic. The Bastards are hailing from USA and this is their new e.p., so I am happy being able to discover this band and review their record.

This band is made of two members, being Jimmy Moon on guitar and backing vocals and D.C.Disaster, lead vocals. This record contains four songs of acoustic horrorpunk. The songs on this record are apparently the band´s favorite songs from their 2016 “Being Human” record done with a slight different arrangement and re-recorded for this release. Now, I haven´t heard the original versions of the songs, but I loved the songs on this record. My favorite song is “Earth Invaders” having a classic horrorpunk vibe and reminding me vocally a lot of Trevor from American Werewolves. Also “Necromantic” is an excellent song having a weird but beautiful doo wop vibe. The rest of the songs are also fine, melodic and atmospheric, ideal for chilling in the warm Summer darkness and planning youe next mischief while enjoying  the songs of The Bastards. If you love horrorpunk and if you love it done acoustic, then this is the right record for you to enjoy, dear fiendettes and fiends!

(record review)THE OBNOXIOUS-“Live Underground”(WTF Records)

This is the first official live album by The Obnoxious from Rotterdam, recorded on their home territory, in their hometown. The record came out on mighty WTF Records to somehow bridge the gap and appease the fans until the release of their new studio full length.

LIVE_TOTAL_V03_outlines

The album contains 15 songs setlist by these scene veterans from the nineties. I must admit that I didn˙t listen to this band prior to getting my paws on this record, so I am glad I discovered this band. The music this band plays is hardcore punk that is pretty harsh and has a lot of metallic influences but also has plenty of melodic underlines. I must also mention the humour and ironic lyrics of the songs that somehow mirror the today˙s state of the world. As far as my taste goes, I love the faster more hardcore songs like “The End Of The World” or “Hide Your Head Away” for example, songs made for circle pit and stage diving. This live album shows how much energy can this fine band release and with songs like “The Dancing Soldier Song” , “State of Anarchy” and “Rotterdamn it” you just can`t go wrong!
