(book review) Jesse Fink – Bon: The Last Highway

Now, just finished reading this exciting book. Some would say that AC/DC era with Bon Scott as the singer, was the best era of the band. I love those albums, but also consider Brian Johnson a worthy singer and his work with the band is also legendary. Now, this book is not a clean biography of Bon’s life, it is rather a mixture of biography and criminal investigation, since majority of the book is focused on last year or so of Bon’s life and features different, meaning two main versions of the events that led to Bon’s death in 1980. Official explanation is, everybody knows, that he died of alcohol poisoning, but there are so much unexplained events of the day before and day after that I am not sure that the official version is accurate. Both theories are in a way correct, but you have to read the book if you are fan or not, to find your own opinion of the events which led to death of this legend who could give so much more to the heavy rock scene, being gone at only 33 years old. Great book, there is a Croatian version, I ordered mine from Rockmark bookstore in Zagreb.
