Enjoy our new video for “My Oath” Renegades! Although this song comes from a very dark place and it’s a promise to not let ourselves become victims of abuse again, we decided to make a positive and heartfelt video that will celebrate all of our Renegade family as a reminder to all of us that in our difficult times music will always be here as our sanctuary and best friend. All footage is from 2022, the year that music was once again heard in stages, clubs and stadiums after being so violently ripped out from our lives. It’s our way to celebrate music, life, love and friendship! So, enjoy and if you like, you can also share your experience in the comments and tell us how music was your best friend and helped carry you through your difficult moments. (review) Godiva – ‘Hubris’

Portugal has interesting and varied metal and extreme music underground scene and I am glad I discovered one more band from that nice country. Godiva are hailing from Porto and this is their brand new opus. This one contains ten songs. The music of Godiva is a mixture between black death metal and some gothic metal influences mostly the darkened atmosphere of the opus as a whole. Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls but you can understand what is being sung about, so that is another plus for this band in my opinion. Music varies from aggression of blast beats black metal to more atmospheric keyboard led melodies and symphonic black death metal passages not unlike later Dimmu Borgir era, at least I heard it that way, that does not mean this band is a clone of mentioned band or anything. Godiva lean more into guitar metal oriented side of things and less on symphonic metal, although there is enough of both to satisfy fans of both genres. Songs like ‘Death of Icarus’, ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Faceless’ are my personal favorites. You will have to find ones for yourselves.

DESERT NEAR THE END announces new album ‘The Dawning of the Son’ by Boersma Records (Germany)!

Desert Near the End return with their fifth album and they are pleased to announce their collaboration with Boersma Records (Germany)! 

“The Dawning of the Son” is set for release on May 27 of 2022! 

As the time of the pandemic seems to be at its end, Desert Near the End used this two year break as an opportunity to be creative. Delivering the direct successor of their previous endeavour, “of Fire and Stars”! 

This time they managed to balance the aggression with melody reaching to an outcome that feels more “Desert Near the End” than ever before. Influences have been tamed and a more personal sound has risen, revealing a path across the Desert more clear than ever before!  

Lyrically is based on the first trilogy of “The Red Rising Saga” by Pierce Brown who offered great inspiration and food for thought to the band.  

The album was recorded and mixed once again at the Incorporated M. Studios and was engineered by Vassilis Pappas. 

The beautiful cover artwork is signed by Panagiotis Vlamis, also the creator of the “Theater of War” artwork. 

Giannis Nakos and Remedy Art Design put everything in place once more creating a fantastic booklet. 

“Rise for Dominion”, the second track of the new album is set to be released as a single on April 22!
