With any group creative process there is eventually going to be a clash of creative visions. This track is about feeling the pressure and tension of those differences,” says lead singer James Ash. “We wanted to highlight some types of different struggles the band has gone through over the years” says guitarist Dan Ralph, “such as constantly being late, quitting for more illustrious opportunities, dealing with creative differences, and most importantly… the proper technique for body-checking a bandmate through the wall.”

The album was produced by James Ash at Kremation Studios, mixed by Henrik Udd (Bring Me the Horizon, Architects, A Breach of Silence) and mastered by Ermin Hamidovic (Periphery, Devin Townsend Project) at Systematic Productions.

Pre-order the full album on iTunes, Amazon, or Google Play, and stream the singles via Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora, iHeartRadio, with more options available here.

(new video)AWAKEN I AM DEBUT NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “DISSOLUTION”

thumbnail_image007

Australia’s AWAKEN I AM continues to break genres with the release of “Dissolution,” their newest video. The brand new track follows the release of their full length album Blind Love.

“This song is a chance for me to get some closure and say some things I never had the chance to say. The new sound and imagery symbolizes taking a step forward, leaving the past and old ways behind,” explains drummer Luke McKenzie.

“After being so blown away from our recent first full tour of the United States earlier this year, we are so excited to come back for a second this summer with CKY and Slaves. The guys in Slaves are good friends and CKY always puts on a killer show, so we are expecting great vibes all around on this tour.”

(record review)VACANT HOME-“Reflect, Respond”

reflect_respond_art

I fuckin love the Australian hardcore scene, it is one of my favourite scenes in the world with many excellent bands like Toe To Toe, Deez Nuts, Clowns…coming out every day. I find some great Australian bands almost every month and it only deepens my respect and love for their scene. This time around we have a new record by Vacant Home, band that is coming from Perth City. This record contains seven songs. Vacant Home are playing modern version of melodic hardcore with very heartfelt and emotional lyrics, so I can almost characterize this band as melodic hardcore that is bordering with screamo. They actually remind me a little off a Croatian band called Mališa Bahat. The vocals are harsh but not screamy, rather shouted. The lyrics are very beautiful and they are depressive but I can also catch a glimmer of hope somewhere in there. The tempo is mostly smart and midtempo rythm but there is some occasional faster drumming and I can also hear some indie guitar lines in some songs like “Shiver” for example. This is nice hardcore record done from the heart, so give it a chance and spin it a couple of times.
