Antipathic are American-Italian band and this is their fourth opus. These brand new four songs e.p. features brutal death metal mixed with some slamming influences, also some samples in couple of songs and even some melody in guitar work like in my personal favorite which happens to be the title song. Lyrically, band continues where they left off with their last release speaking about inevitable machine take over of the world and end of all humanity. This is not your typical brutal death metal, nor it is boring slam death metal band, this is a quality top notch four songs e.p. with blistering blast beats, moshing parts, thrash influenced fast solos and superb brutal vocalist. So go get it.
Poland has such great underground extreme music scene. Faust have been around for 25 years now and this is their brand new, fourth studio full length opus. These guys and girl play, as they say for themselves thrash/death metal, but for me it is more sounding like thrash metal with folk and doom metal influences, especially in epic sung parts, courtesy of Karolina Matuszkiewicz, who also handles folk instruments that appear here and there and whose voice perfectly interplays with singer Maciej Bartkowski, whose singing style reminds me at times of Grip Inc. His voice is clean yet at the same time aggressive and lyrics can be heard which is another plus in my opinion. Those guys are in no way strangers to the scene with drums being handled by Paweł “Pavulon” Jaroszewicz (Batushka, ex Vader, Antigama). There are seven songs on this opus, with lyrics being sung in Polish language. Couple of songs reminded me more of thrash groove modern school, with street smart vibe, but what I love on this album are more death metal blast beat oriented songs like Iskra pod sniegiem or Jakbys gryzla zwir which carefully mix aggression of thrash death riffing and atmosphere and melody, I dare say melancholy of doom/folk thus creating perfect metal storm. I can also hear nineties style death metal influence in song structures, Morbid Angel old school death metal and similar bands, but Faust are not clones. This is a great record from great band and great scene!
Al-Namrood are hailing from land not known for the appreciation of extreme music, namely Saudi Arabia. These guys have been in the scene since 2008 and this is their brand new e.p. containing 6 songs of thrash metal influenced black/death with many oriental music folk parts thrown in the song structures thus bringing a superb vibe of desert, relentless nature, ancient times and demons. Songs are in English language so my personal favorites are Guerillas and Sun of Liberation. Vocals dwell more in the black metal oriented screaming, with guitars and drums at times delivering real groove metal parts besides already natural blast beats and fast thrash metal drumming. I listen to this band for couple of years now and I am fascinated how good they sound and how mighty their message is, also music is something that can cross any border, any so called state and hierarchy, connect true underground creatures into a network. Good one.
