Plastika are coming from my home country, namely Croatia’s capital Zagreb. This is band’s second release. Plastika are playing ultra fast hardcore punk with some d-beat hardcore punk influences and high pitched screaming vocals, courtesy of singer Marta. This is relatively new band in the scene, but members played in other bands before, so they are new to the Croatian hardcore punk scene. Music on this record are short songs, but energetic bombs and total destruction and apocalypse. The lyrics are in Croatian and they deal with both politically engaged themes, but also some personal dealing with demons and emotions. This album flies by you fast and leaves you filled with hardcore punk energy and I must say once again hats off to singer Marta being able to scream so fast and high pitched. The music of Plastika reminds me a bit of Italian hardcore punk bands like Negazione, Arturo and couple of others. They are also great and fun to listen and watch live, so check out their live show if you are able to. My personal favorites on this record are: Moraju past, Prodaj mi sranje and Zauvijek mlad.
Turnstile have just released a new track, ‘Look Out For Me,‘ ahead of their upcoming album Never Enough, which drops June 6th.
The song is out now on streaming platforms and is paired with a video directed by Brendan Yates and Pat McCrory – both core members of the band. The clip is part of TURNSTILE: Never Enough, a 14-song visual album set to premiere June 5th at the Tribeca Festival.
The visual album was directed entirely by Yates and McCrory and will debut as an official Tribeca Festival selection, one day before the full-length LP hits. The trailer, plus Tribeca screening dates and ticketing info, is already available online.
Nakon osam godina kanadske legende Propagandhi vratili su se sa novim albumom. Propagandhi su pioniri cijelog novog žanra, odnosno tehničkog melodičnog hardcore punka miksanog sa metalom i skatepunk elementima. Tekstovi su i dalje politički, angažirani, ali miješani i gledani kroz prizmu osobnog iskustva. Na albumu dobijamo 13 pjesama i mogao bih izdvojiti neke koje mi leže bolje od ostalih. Naslovna pjesma, dakle At Peace mi je daleko najbolja na cijelom albumu, nije čudo da su je izbacili kao prvi single sa albuma. Još su mi super dvije melodičnije pjesme koje pjeva basist Todd umjesto gitarista Chrisa, a to su No Longer Young koju su također odabrali kao single, a tu je još i God Of Avarice koje su obje malo laganije i nešto melankoličnije od ostatka albuma. Mogu još istaknuti Stargazing i Vampires Are Real. Glazba je komplicirana, puna izmjena tempa, različitih gitarskih melodija i riffova, a ima i metal galopiranja u skoro pa hevićkoj Prismatic Spray(The Tinder Date). Dakle, da sumiramo, album nastavlja dalje tamo gdje je prijašnji Victory Lap stao i meni je odlično sjeo.
