(news – new single) Angry Youth Elite released hardcore punk song about homelessness!

Ruhrpott/Germany-based hardcore and skate punk band Angry Youth Elite is back with their new single ‘Cold Outside’. The track precedes the new album ‘All Riot’, which will be released by Bakraufarfita Records in June.

‘The song is about a real incident. After a show in cold November, a drunk homeless man ran in front of my car and fell on the ground. I helped him up and offered to help. He didn’t want to be helped, pushed me away and went his way. Since it was so extremely cold, I called the police so they could check on the man. They replied that you don’t come out for every drunk homeless person. An ambulance can also only be sent if he is injured. I then decided to take action myself and drove around the place all night looking for him in case he needed help. Except for a few broken beer bottles, all I found were empty streets,’ said Charlie, lead singer of Angry Youth Elite.

(review) Damn City – ‘Get Up’ (Too Loud Records)

Damn City are hailing from Bologna area, Italy and this is their new three song EP. This EP is dedicated to Bob Marley with title song being cover of Marley’s powerful anthem and done in crossover, mixture of rap and hardcore way. This new rendition made this old school fight anthem more powerful and street vibe smart, mixing reggae with hardcore and rap. ‘Skorpio Haze’ is more of a rap song with more electronica in the song structure and less guitar oriented, but sounding at the same time powerful and cleverly using samples and sounding street smart and mystical at the same time. ‘Gli Occhi Della Sfinge’ is a remix sounding powerful and this little release is the choice if you are into this kind of music.

(review) Coping Method – ‘Demo’

Coping Method are hailing from San Francisco, California and this is their self recorded demo containing an intro plus five songs. Music is just the way I like it, fast and at times chaotic. This is hardcore punk bordering with power violence and also some slower, sludgy stuff thrown in with screaming vocals, thundering bass and tortured apocalyptic atmosphere and vibe coming your way. Songs like ‘Cope’, ‘Torture’ or ‘Behold’ are sure to win you over with their vision of hardcore punk. This is a great demo by great band. I also love and encourage use of samples, it is always great. I look forward to next releases by this great band. Hardcore lives!
