(review) AFYL/Trophy Jump-Split e.p.

Wow! What a nice surprise with two bands that were already featured  on the pages of our zine. afeyearslater from Hungary, deliver two songs in their trademark fast and furious melodic hardcore punk with superb melodic vocals and harsh but melodic riffs topped with fast drumming.

Trophy Jump from Zagreb, Croatia deliver a bit calmer song with Glass Bell, melodic punkrock song with beautiful lyrics that I can certainly relate to a lot. Second song called Bazooka Blaze has a weird yet interesting sound of trumpet which makes it kinda unusual but cool. Both cool bands, both cool music, so go listen and support your scene.

(new single/lyric video-punkrock) Hungarian punks Bankrupt pay tribute to Joe Strummer with a single and lyric video!

Long standing Hungarian punk rock band Bankrupt have released a lyric video for their new single “Come Back Joe Strummer”. Released just a week ahead of the legendary Clash frontman’s birthday (21 Aug), the song is a reminder that Joe Strummer was not just a punk rock visionary, but he also realized the importance of climate change awareness well ahead of his time.

“Thank you for the soundtrack of Climate Judgement Day” is a reference to the apocalyptic lyrics of London Calling, which feel a lot more real with today’s news headlines. In these critical times, we’d need revolutionary voices like Joe Strummer more than ever. (Hence the superhero artwork.)

The song is available on Bandcamp, Spotify and all other digital platforms. It’s recommended to fans of The Clash and Clash-influenced bands such as Rancid or The Interrupters.

All profits from the track will be donated to the Joe Strummer Foundation.
