Finnish Miss Vain released their Crocus Biflorus EP – New music video One To Burn also out now!

Finnish rocking metal band Miss Vain released their first EP ‘Crocus Biflorus’ on August 11th 2023 via Inverse Records. Also a new music video One to Burn is released today and it can be seen here: https://youtu.be/0nEt3ZDvA0c

Miss Vain’s first EP – Crocus Biflorus as fresh as it gets!

The songs has been composed, written and recorded little by little from summer of 2020 to the fall of 2022…We know it took awhile but hey, what’s the rush?! Band was formed during the sessions in 2021, so the players on the record are not quite the same as our current lineup.

One To Burn is the only song on the album that hasn’t been released yet as a single, so we gave it a privilege to start this bumpy joyride! The song tells a story of sort of an own life antihero, who is struggling with depression, challenging relationships and explosive impulsiveness that might set the whole world on fire if unleashed. It’s pretty easy listening song with catchy and melodic chorus.

Second song on EP is called All the Same, which was the first single of the album we released via Inverse Records. It critizises the false and embellished reality, created especially in social media. Song has got very good feedback whenever played live or via streaming services. It’s a metal song leaning towards rock- and even pop-music.

Leap of Failed as a third song of the album will raise some horns with it’s modern thrash- metal like vibes and easygoing choruses. Lyrics are about failing and ones need of a change in life, even though it could be such a leap of faith, with ghosts of the past lurking in the mist of your mind and in the shades of loneliness. It was the second single from the album.

Song number four is called Song of Solitude. It’s also the third single of the album. This might be EP:s most toughest bite for a listener, as it holds elements from progressive-metal to pop-rock and much in between within. Lyrically we stick in with such a similar issues. It’s basically about loss, grieving the past and hope for a new… The cry for love and acceptance universally and/or personally.

Well I think that’s pretty much what whole life is all about! Isn’t it?

Biography

Miss Vain is a five piece rock – group from Tampere Finland, drifting in the maelstrom of metal. It´s music is a horns raising energy and catchy melodies with a featherlike delicacy.

Miss Vain was formed in 2019 as a two guy studio project. After two lighter pop – / rock – songs, we lowered our tune and in summer of 2021 Miss Vain grew into a real band… Finally. 

Our mission is to deliver joyful moments with new awesome songs and live shows to all who are willing to be entertained by Miss Vains rumbling tunes.

Finnish extreme metal band i Helvete releases a new single – the second album out in November!

Combining melodic black and death metal, i Helvete has released the first single Uuden Ajan ABC from their upcoming second album Yksi Yhteinen Yhteiskunta. The concept album tells the story of a movement that sees the direction of the modern world as doomed. Preserving the sustainability of the planet requires extensive and radical actions – and not everyone can survive.

The band from Seinäjoki, Finland released their debut album Sinisten Puiden Niitty two years ago. i Helvete’s new single Uuden Ajan ABC is now available on all streaming services and its lyric video on YouTube. Anna Pellikka, who also guested on the debut album, is responsible for the female vocals in the song.

Singer-guitarist Aleksi Mäkelä comments:

“Uuden Ajan ABC was the first completed song from our second album. From the beginning it was a very strong ensemble and a single candidate. The song contains memorable riffs, female vocals and mood changes. The opening riff was played and felt for a long time before it got surrounded by other stuff. Originally, the song actually contained a completely separate outro, but when we arranged the song with Tapio, he came up with the idea that it should go back to the stuttering atmosphere of the verses instead of the new outro. Manu added an atmospheric guitar solo to it and thus the end of the song became much better! Lyrically, Uuden Ajan ABC serves as a good starting point for the concept album world, even though it’s only the third song on the actual album.”

Yksi Yhteinen Yhteiskunta will be published on 24th of November 2023 via Inverse Records. Before the album release, the band promises to release two more singles. The album was mixed and mastered by Second To Sun frontman Vladimir Lehtinen, who is known for e.g. as Grima and Ultar‘s sound engineer.
“The composition process of our second album was surprisingly fast. After the release of the first album, it probably took a half year for this album to be composed. Of course, the recordings and other processes related to the album release still took their own time. YYY is perhaps a bit more straightforward compared to the debut album. We wanted to keep the sound world as authentic as possible, and in the recordings we tried to find the most ready sounds for the instruments. In addition to traditional band instruments, the album features violin, accordion, piano and mandolin. Instead of virtual instruments, we wanted these to be real for the record, and we used session musicians to record them. I think the sound of the album is really successful.” Mäkelä continues.

Biography

Gloomy patterns, addictive moods and melodic, unconventional music. That’s how Finnish extreme metal band i Helvete swallows the listener to the edge of Northern Darkness. The band took its first breath in 2018 by releasing double-single “Pimeyden Ytimessä / Umpikuja”. After two years of writing new material i Helvete grew from duo to a full band and went back to the studio to record their praised concept debut album “Sinisten Puiden Niitty” in 2021. Consisting of experienced musicians, i Helvete hasn’t played any gigs yet – it’s left to wait for the right moment. Instead, the band has focused on making new music. The second concept album “Yksi Yhteinen Yhteiskunta” will see the light in November 2023.

Finnish symphonic and melodic black metal act Wooden Shadow is set to release the debut album ‘Eternal Land Of Wrath And Mourn’ on June 16th via Inverse Records. A new single Chaosreign is release today.

Chaosreign single from Wooden Shadow’s debut album ‘Eternal Land Of Wrath And Mourn’ is a mixture of hostility and darkness brought by chaos, offering music with an abundance of melodies and varied section changes. Wooden Shadow’s front man, multi-instrumentalist Jeremia Ponto offers more versatility with his vocals, both black metal’s characteristic high screaming and clean vocals, which can also be found in other songs on the album!

BIOGRAPHY:
Wooden Shadow is a melodic/symphonic black metal solo project/band founded by Jeremia Ponto, who turns 23 this year. Strong influences can be found in Finnish folk music and church music. The lyrics deal with human inner darkness, sadness and life/death thoughts.

Since 2020, Jeremia Ponto is a multi-tasker of Wooden Shadow, which he founded, and is responsible for the compositions, lyrics, recordings and all instruments in his own home studio in Ylöjärvi, where he originally comes from.

Wooden Shadow has self-published 3 singles and one EP, and during the last months, Wooden Shadow’s debut album ‘Eternal Land Of Wrath And Mourn’ has been in the works, which is finally finished and it is set to be released via Inverse Records on June 16th 2023.
