Track by track
Perspective-Perspectives is a protest song, with a taste of popular revolt in the lyrics. Here we have two totally opposed points of view: the people on one side, and the rulers of this world on the other, with their respective arguments, fears and frustrations.

When The Angels Fall-When The Angels Fall, as the name suggests, is a rather dark song about depression. After our epic trip to the Uk at the end of 2019, some members took a step back from the band and the worldwide pandemic followed, which was mentally quite difficult on a personal level for all of us. This song is the 1st composition Flo has come up with since then, and I was keen to express what I was feeling at the time. Depression is a subject I take very seriously, as it’s often invisible to others and can cause a lot of damage. Don’t hesitate to speak out. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. – Rudy

Negativity-Negativity is a song created during the sad period of lockdown in 2020 and simply reflects the physical and mental discomfort that many of us felt for several weeks. This song was an obvious choice to be the first single of our new EP as it marks a transition for Yvet Garden, both in terms of line up and musical orientation.
The Light In The Dark-Still in the context of depression, The Light In The Dark is a song of hope, thanks to love. When you’re at your lowest ebb and everything around you is weighing you down, all it takes is one person to get you back on track and living again.

Annihilation Trend-What would an EP in 2023 be without mentioning nature, climate and biodiversity?
Absolutely impossible! That’s what we’ve done with the song Annihilation Trend. Through the eyes of a bird covered in fuel oil in the middle of the ocean, or one of the last great apes in Southeast Asia struggling to find food and shelter, we wanted to show the extent to which man is destroying the earth, pure and simple, in his quest for the infinite dollar. “We have become the cancer of our own planet” said Enhancer back in 2008. 15 years later, nothing has changed – in fact, it’s even worse.
More-More is a bonus track at the end of the EP which is included on the vinyl. In a slightly different, shoegaze vibe, we once again show a different side of the band, because we have to get out of our comfort zone. As far as the lyrics are concerned, we’re following in the footsteps of Annihilation Trend, with a text centered on the way we behave in society towards nature.

Yvet Garden will release their next EP ‘A Long Way Down’ on KROD Records in late autumn 2023. Here is the new single/video!

Yvet Garden have signed to KROD Records for a very dark EP, more melancholy and rocking than their previous pop-punk releases. This will be a 6-track EP on a pretty purple vinyl format, which will be available for pre-order in September. Yvet Garden presents their second single ‘ When The Angels Fall‘ from the EP.

When The Angels Fall, as its name suggests, is a rather dark song about depression. Rudy from the band tells us more about his story:

After our epic trip to the UK at the end of 2019, some members took a step back from the band and the global pandemic followed, which was mentally quite difficult on a personal level for all of us. This song is the 1st composition Flo has come up with since then, and I was keen to express what I was feeling at the time. Depression is a subject I take very seriously, as it’s often invisible to others and can cause a lot of damage. Rest assured, I’m fine! But not everyone is, so don’t hesitate to speak out. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Yvet Garden in a few words…

Formed in 2015 in Valence, Yvet Garden is all about rock. Sometimes punk-rock, sometimes metal, the 4 valentines string together their devastating riffs through atmospheres tinged with darkness and melancholy. Following the release of their 1st EP “Twisted Tales” in 2018, the band has forged a solid live reputation across France and England. Both in clubs and in some of the country’s finest venues (Bataclan, Transbordeur, Backstage, CCO). In the course of 2021, the band will return to the studio illegally during confinement to record their second opus, scheduled for autumn 2023. This will mark a transition in the band’s musical evolution, under the impetus of KROD Records, which the quartet will join in early 2023.

(review) Topsy Turvy’s – It Can’t Be Easy

Topsy Turvy’s are no strangers to this zine, this melodic punk band from Poitiers, France has already been featured with their singles announcing this full length and finally it is here! This beauty contains 11 songs of melodic pop punk, old school one, reminding of all those nineties melodic punk bands, not fast but punk rock done with heart and emotion. Dual vocals fit in such perfect harmony, that in some songs they made goosebumps upon my skin. Lyrics are in English and songs deal with you everyday themes to which all of us can relate to in more or less way. I enjoyed this one so much that 2023 started, but it is already a candidate for one of the top releases of melodic punk this year. This is not your fast skate punk as you might have been used from some Californian bands, but the songs remind me a lot of No Use For A Name how great they are written and the melodies they deliver. I would certainly love so much to check this one out on stage, they are so sweet. My personal highlights and favorites on this album change from listening to listening, but I will try for this review: Forever Alone, Not So Long and Are We Still Alive?

Fantastic!
