Manchester Punk Festival is back for the 6th year and it just keeps getting better and better.  The 3 day event has become a much adored celebration of all things punk and hardcore and fans travel from around the world to join in the fun. 2019 saw the festival grow, adding a new 900 capacity stage and hosting a whopping 130 bands across the 8 city centre venues.

The first announcement for 2020 just dropped and features an anniversary show from THE FLATLINERS (playing their album Cavalcade in full), skate punk legends BELVEDERE, local ska favourites RANDOM HAND along with OI POLLOI, ROUGHNECK RIOT, ONSIND, CHEWING ON TINFOIL, WARWOUND, PMX, CHRISTMAS and many more.

Super Early Bird tickets sold out in minutes, before a single band was announced – a sign of high expectations from eager punters who have come to love not just the live music but the poetry, film screenings, vegan food, comedy acts, inner city discounts and much much more.

(review) Milhouse Van Halen-1(Horn & Hoof Records)

Milhouse Van Halen is a drummer for Tio Rico from UK and this is his new release out with Horn & Hoof Records. I listened and reviewed it for our zine.

The e.p. contains two songs of acoustic and heartfelt punkrock and one is relative short song called Unemployment which hits right in the target with nice melody although it is short and another one is a bit longer called Paper Lanterns and it is a nice bit of melodic and acoustic punkrock. Horn & Hoof plans to release a 12 EP’s over the course of 12 months and this is the first one in that series. Interesting idea and interesting music, so give this one a try.

GEP

Manchester and whole of UK punk hardcore scene is pulsating and vibrating with awesome bands, labels, promoters, zines and I love it! I also love discovering excellent new bands like Glue Ear!, trio from Manchester, UK, whose new release on Horn & Hoof Records I listened and reviewed for our zine.

Skate Pizza

I don´t really know how to describe this release, is it double single, or is it mini e.p., who really cares? These guys mix punk, hardcore and ska and there are two songs on this release. Hoax is more of a ska punk song, but also having great melody and hardcore parts. Mr Plastic is straightforward a bit raw punk song with melody and tightness just made for pogoing and jumping around with your mohawk in the air hehe. This is a good band, but I wish there is more material on the record, because there is just too few songs to listen to and I like the band. I wait eagerly for the more material from Glue Ear!
