Sonoma County is a place where nineties melodic punk rock existed and thrived with bands such as Tsunami Bomb or Bracket falling to mind immediately. North Bay in California has new and superb melodic punk bands and One Armed Joey is one of those. This trio has been around since 2014 and this is their first full length album after releasing couple of e.p.-s. This one contains ten songs of absolutely beautiful melodic punk rock with some pop punk influences and it is so sweet to listen to. Vocals are such honey and cinnamon sprinkled melodies and backing vocal harmonies deliver such overlayer of beauty to the main melodies. Guitar work is awesome, songwriting is totally great and this album or music does not get boring or repetitive for one second. Lyrics are another story, so carefully and well written and handle with today´s anxieties that any of us have and hold, and teach us to somehow try to turn those anxieties to happiness and cope with that in everyday rush and all day running and trying to catch something. The album as a whole is at the same time melancholic but also full of hope and not giving up. Besides playing pop punk, there are also a bit of reggae influence like in part of one of my personal favorites Mirrors. Also, songs I mention as my highlights are Rot and Lost Dog pt 1 and 2. This is a great album.

Love Equals Death have a new single and lyric video!
Love Equals Death was founded in the depths of California, fittingly on Halloween to create a band that mixes Horror Punk with Skate Punk. The first Love Equals Death album Nightmerica was release by Fat Wreck chords and had the trio around Chon Travis tour with bands like AFI and Tiger Army all around the globe.
After releasing a split record with their buddies The Static Age and a B-sides compilation – both on SBÄM records – they are now ready to unleash their brand new album “Gravity and Grace” on July 17.
The first single “The Letter” is out on May 18 as well as the cool lyrics video created by Dominik Geiger.
The Letter is about broken trust. When you go all in for someone and realize that it’s not reciprocated. Not only that, they didn’t respect you enough to tell you to your face, but instead, left it all in a letter. 3420 came together in the studio. We needed another song, but didn’t have lyrics. We were trying to come up with ideas, so I started to think about people that I know or have met in my life that stood out to me, and my friend Shelby came to mind. The rest is history. Gravity and Grace is a lifetime away from Nightmerica. There have been so many obstacles since then just to get to this point in releasing a new album. The gratitude that I hold for aIl those involved is overwhelming. I can’t think of a better time than now for this musical and life expression.
– says singer and guitarist Chon Travis. The Letter can roughly be described as Bauhaus meets The Clash!
The Venomous Pinks drop new video taken off their new album!
Before the release of their first album Vita Mors on June 3, 2022, The Venomous Pinks dedicate their last single Broken Hearts Club to those who left us too early.
„Hold onto memories that fade away. Where did you go?
“Hold onto memories that fade away. Where did you go? I wanna know.” With a chorus that immediately gets stuck in your head and vulnerably honest lyrics, The Venomous Pinks create yet another iconic single. The concurrency of catchiness and depth makes Broken Hearts Club not only an instant hit, but a touching homage to loved ones that had to go too soon.
“Broken Hearts Club is a track dedicated to the ones we’ve loved and lost. Captured through a documentary lens, this video reflects raw footage of us recording alongside producers Cameron Webb and Linh Le. Writing this song came from such personal space, it only made sense to showcase us unfiltered as a band. Collectively and individually, it’s important to remember that over the past few years, we as a society have experienced so much tragedy. The uncertainty and finalization of death is the one thing each of us have in common. Living for today is a choice often taken for granted”, explains front woman and guitarist Drea Doll.
Broken Hearts Club is the third single from Vita Mors, which will be released on June 3, 2022 on SBÄM Records.
