(news – punk) Midwich Cuckoos welcomes new singer Mel Hassan!

Punk/metal crossover wild cards, Midwich Cuckoos, are excited to announce the addition of their new lead singer, Mel Hassan. Mel joins this busy band of misfits for a some new live dates and new songs on the horizon.

Midwich Cuckoos are a London-based outfit, who released their album ‘Death or Glory’, last year, which was supported by an extravaganza of music videos.

This new introduction brings a distinctly different sound into the Cuckoo’s mix of genre-bashing, sing-a-long tracks. Fans of the band can expect more high-octane tunes, big riffs and catchy killer choruses from the new material, with some unexpected velvety tones from their new frontwoman.

Catch the band’s new lineup at one of their upcoming shows:

Sat 27th May – Blondies, Hackney, London
Fri 23rd June – Youth Brigade Festival, Dortmund Germany
Sat 5th Aug – Rebellion Festival, Blackpool

The album ‘Sun God’ is composed of 9 tracks for over 55 minutes of playing time. It is a reflection about ancient old belief systems and how, nowadays, our beliefs are manipulated and dominated by hypnotic media, pseudo sciences, and placebo wisdom. The symbolism of the Sun God is used by the band in opposition to Satan and his temptations. While the latter one creates lies to make people’s souls empty, the Sun God represents the search for our inner Self, in intimate connection with Nature and the harmony it generates.

PARACRONA is a six-piece mainly from Norway. The composers are the Dutch-born singer RingoChristiaan Van Droffelaar and the lead guitarist Øystein Hansen. The songwriting takes inspiration from Burzum, Dimmu Borgir, Dissection, Morbid Angel, Mayhem, Dark Funeral, but also from Queen, Dreamtheater,Bay Area Thrash Metal, Classical Music, and Pop.

(new single/video) Polish punk metal band SKØV released video to the new song titled ‘Above The Earth’!

SKØV is a Polish punk metal band from Wrocław, formed in 2017. Someone said that we play like razors, jump like kangaroos and we are murderous, precise whelps who play with fucking anger.

Band have just released video to the new song ‘Above The Earth’

This track was recorded at Nebula Studio (The MateriaGoryczTides From Nebula) in Warsaw (PL) and mixed&mastered by Mateusz Bajan.

Band commentary: ‘The song was inspired by a scandal from a few years ago regarding the discovery of mass graves of children of indigenous people in Canada. Ultimately, we used this theme as a symbol of the many harms that the institution of the church has done to local cultures around the world, taking their identities and destroying their original systems of beliefs and values. The track is the first in a series of singles we plan to release in the coming months.’
