Since playing their first show in 2014, For I Am have grown into one of the most well-known and active bands in the Belgian punk scene. The band’s always been a proud advocate of upbeat, powerful pop-punk songs with catchy hooks and strong vocals by lead singer Hanne.Over the course of 5 years, the band has released an EP called ’15 Minutes Late’ (2015), a debut album by the name of ‘All About Perspectives’ (2017) and compilation CD made for their Japanese Tour in 2019.Encouraged by their rising sales and enthused audiences, the band went back to the studio and recorded its second full album called ‘Late Bloomers,’ The album will be released on November 11th, 2019.To promote their music, For I Am played a great deal of national and international shows, including several international tours through Europe, the UK and Japan.
On top of that, they opened club shows for bands such as The Bombpops, Propagandhi, Lagwagon, Frenzal Rhomb, Iron Chic, Not On Tour and Satanic Surfers.2019 has been a great year for the band as they got to play Belgian punk festivals GROEZROCK, El Topo Goes Loco and Brakrock Ecofest and they also headed out to Slovenia a second time for Punk Rock Holiday.Future plans involve getting out on the road even more, playing festivals and heading out on tour if the opportunity arises to promote the new album as much as possible.

(review) 5¢ Freakshow-Massive Monster Mayhem(Necro Freak Records/Deadly Distribution)

cover

This band was already featured on the pages of our zine when we reviewed their record. The band worked hard, played their gigs and here is the new e.p. These trio from Calgary, Alberta, Canada play horrorpunk with a lot psychobilly influences and they have upright bass. They remind me a lot of Koffin Kats with very fast, energetic and anthemic horrorpunk blasting from the speakers while listening to the record. There are 5 songs on this record and I am happy to hear how this band progressed with time playing tighter, more catchy and super songs with a lot of oooos and aaas and cool lyrics just made for singing along. Off this record my personal favorites are War Of The Monsters and Satanic Mastermind. Fine record indeed. Halloween is close, but do not listen horrorpunk only on Halloween, do it every day!

(review) The Rebel Assholes-(Headed For) Dysphoria

Cover_New-EP_Rebel-Assholes

We recently featured French punkrock veterans The Rebel Assholes on the pages of this zine when they released their great new video. Well, that video was taken from their new e.p. and here it is. There are 5 songs on this one. And if I might add, this is superb emotional punkrock with a lot of guts, grits and melody the way it was supposed to be. The songs are not fast, in fact they are more in the mid punkrock tempo reminding me of a more melodic side of Menzingers, Flatliners and Nothington respectfully. The songs that I love the most and which totally entered my ear and brain are Dysphoria, Needle In A Haystack and Heads On Pikes. This is a beautiful record done by fantastic band!
