Irish post punk act, Movment, drops new single and music video of – ‘Everything Will Be Clear’!

Everything Will Be Clear is the latest single from the album Transformation by Movment. The Single is available on Bandcamp and all digital streaming. The single EVERYTHING WILL BE CLEAR was recorded in End of Light Studios, Mullingar, Ireland & mixed at Miloco, London and mastered by Jerome Schmitt at The Airlab.Movment are a post-punk alternative indie rock band. Movment are more dark than light, more strong than weak, more direct. Movment make observations on life and living. They mean what they say. There is a divergence in society. The new album Transformation, due in December 2021, explores this situation. We are bombarded with information, opinions, viewpoints, and words. We drown in ideas, in solutions, in propaganda. There needs to be a TRANSFORMATION from where we are now. It explores What We Are. Movment have been through it before. They examine What Way Should It Be. Their time is NOW! There is nothing we cannot do!

(review) Trophy Jump – feels (Nasty Cut Records)

I can´t help the feeling that Trophy Jump from Zagreb, Croatia are somehow more popular and respected in the punk rock scene abroad that in is the case with our Croatian punk rock scene. Being hatched as part of JeboTon music collective, this band built a respectful fanbase by playing and touring abroad prior to this shit with covid pandemix and everything. Maybe I am wrong, but this band worked their butts off, but I don´t think they got the recognition they deserved at our home scene. Anyway, time for new full length record. This one offers eleven songs of smartly written, smartly played and heartfelt punk rock. The music of Trophy Jump, especially on this record is a combination of pop punk, melodic post punk and I think they went further from their skate punk roots with these new songs, except Beer Pressure which is still a nod to skate punk being also one of my favorites on this record, kinda different than the rest of the songs, faster, almost nineties skate punk. Some of the songs are slower, kinda rolling and grinding their way, but there are also some straightforward punk faster songs like FOMO. If I must compare it to some bands it would be Apologies I Have None and PUP maybe. Vocals are a bit rougher but singing melodies and adding to the somehow beautiful atmosphere that this album creates. Lyrics are in English, often tongue in cheek, but if you listen between the lines of I Don´t Wanna Live In A Fitness Ad or Hugs On Drugs or Sharing Is Scary you will get the whole picture of irony, life, coping with life, everyday situations and all you can relate to. I love the use of samples in Brkn Values, also brass instruments creating kinda sad and melancholic, but as I said, to me beautiful atmosphere. If you listen and like what you hear, go watch the videos Trophy Jump made for their songs, I love them, hope you will too.

(review) Billy Talent – Crisis of Faith

Canadian big time post hardcore punks Billy Talent are back with long awaited, several times delayed new album. Besides already known singles such as Forgiveness I+II there are all together ten songs on this one. Billy Talent got some really great innovations in their songwriting like saxophone solo, some keyboards, but it is still that nice melodic punk rock/post hardcore we all grown to love as the years went by. Songs like Reckless Paradise, Judged which are more straightforward punk song or I Beg To Differ are my personal favorites, but ballad The Wolf made my skin crawl with goosebumps, such fantastic melodies and backing vocal harmonies on that one. ForYou is another great example how superb this band is in their songwriting. Musicianship, songwriting, vocals, melodies, everything is just done really really on higher level concerning this record. Awesome new album!
