Taken By Vultures are from Boston and this is their brand new debut release featuring intro and three songs. They play punk rock with raw side to it, yet retaining enough melody. If I must compare them to something, it would be a mixture of Jughead´s Revenge and Blitzkid. Vocals are superb, neither too raspy nor too mellow, just the way they should be for these songs. Lyrics are more on a fun side of things, but there are some personal undertones beneath it all. My personal favorite is Half In The Bag with that haunting chorus that infects you to sing along all day long. Also, Grandpa Joe Is A Dirty Freeloader is much fun. Can´t wait for the full length release. Until then, enjoy this one.
Finnish Rocking Corpses is a putrid mix of rock, death metal, zombies, other horror themes and some really black humour. The band is set to release their second studio album Death Blues on July 2nd 2021 via Inverse Records. A new single and video War For Doom is released today.
The band comments: “War for Doom was created in dawn of our studio sessions. We were listening to our demos and thinking that the album may be lacking one faster song so we geared up and this tune was ready before sundown. Vocals were finished by Laze during sessions and while the song may be a bit out of the general line of the album, it successfully finishes the loose story of the album. War for Doom was considered as a single before but we ended up with the 3 earlier singles (Buried, Another Day in Casket, Body) but when the deal with Inverse Records was made, the first suggestion for a single was this song. Well, here it is!”
Svetlanas is a band that functions between Italy and California and this is their brand new, fifth studio album out with Demons Run Amok. Olga, Nick Oliveri, Diste and Steve delivered fine piece with this new one. The album is featuring ten songs of unbridled, original and new punkrock with garage and hardcore influences, also some electronics thrown in here and there to make songs more interesting and fresh with super arrangements. Led by Olga˙s angry yet at times screaming, but also melodic vocals, driving guitars and great fast paced drums, this album is definitely a winner. I must admit that I never listened to Svetlanas prior to this record, but now I am a definite fan. We already heard two fine singles Jump and All I See Is Red, but rest of the material is even more powerful. Pussification Of Punk Rock and Karma Soldier are personal favorites of mine, being bombs of energy spat in the face of society. I can only imagine how this band sounds live, I am sure they are fantastic! Great album, I am definitely a fan.
