(new single) UK ska-punks Faintest Idea released new single!

War to the Palaces is the third and final single from UK ska-punks Faintest Idea ahead of their raucous new album The Road to Sedition which is due for release on TNSrecords (UK) and Jump Start Records (US) on 31 March 2023.

All ska has been dropped for this track, being a straight up punk song of the rabble rousing variety. Lyrically the song touches upon the ever worsening housing crisis in the UK and urges people to look at who owns the land and property we’re all supposed to live on.

The chorus is angry and anthemic, complete with trumpet fanfare and gang vocals. Designed for you to shout as loud as you can while running around in circles.

The Road To Sedition is a call to arms, marching to a beat of blistering horn riffs and shout-along choruses. With tours of mainland Europe and the USA (in support of The Slackers) planned for 2023, there’s never been a better time to get dancing to Faintest Idea.

THE ROAD TO SEDITION

Faintest Idea is best known for their incendiary live shows, politically-charged lyrics and infectious horn lines. This six-piece street-punk band from East Anglia return in 2023 with their long-anticipated new album, ‘The Road To Sedition‘, which promises rage-fuelled stomping infused with a good measure of bouncy ska.

The Road to Sedition is a call to arms. It’s an accomplished studio release which sits partway between an autobiography and a political polemic, marching to a beat of blistering horn riffs and shout-along choruses. Faintest Idea’s lyrics are unapologetically political and personal, tackling issues of power, war, PTSD, climate change, economic inequality and the ongoing fight for a more equal world … all delivered with a raw intensity that is sure to resonate with fans.

Whether you’re a seasoned punk or a newcomer to the genre, ‘The Road To Sedition‘ is an album you won’t want to miss. With its powerful message and uncrushable spirit, it is the perfect soundtrack for a new era of resistance and rebellion. Get ready to join Faintest Idea on The Road To Sedition.

The album is being released by TNSrecords (UK) and Jump Start Records (US).

(najava) Mašinko – samostalni koncert sutra u Vintage Industrial Baru

Pretprodajno mjesto je Dirty Old Shop (Tratinska 34), VIB & Grif bar (Savska 160) i online.

SATNICA

(review) Batboner – ‘Flaccid EP’

Batboner from Norway were already featured on the pages of this webzine when I reviewed their last release. Now, they are back with their brand new EP containing four songs and this is the final record with their drummer Zonetripper who left the band and it is a sort of hommage to him. On this new one Batboner continue where they left off with the previous one, delivering eerie gothic punk mixed with raw punk rock and death rock, also some horror punk influences in the song structures. I love how this band on both releases manages to create kind of eerie melodies, meaning, yes, they are melodic but somehow spooky and songs like ‘Flaccid’ could be hits in any goth club because it is a very straightforward and dancable song. ‘litch’ is a song in which those beautiful haunted vocal lines come to forefront and deliver mighty punch in the face and blackened heart. As I can hear this new EP leans more on punk side of things and music is still death rock but with more of a punk touch. ‘Light In The Void’ is a personal favorite of mine with that nice bass melody, simple and hitting through to you. Vocals are again at the forefront but chorus is at the same time more aggressive yet melancholic. ‘Skretch’ is a final song on this EP and leaves me wanting more and saying long live the horror!
