Nice to see some bands from the east of Europe joining the worldwide underground network of nice bands, individuals, promoters, zines…FUCK You DRACU are from Bucharest, Romania and this is their new record. Here we get seven songs of rawer hardcore punk with lots of garage punk influences. All the song titles and lyrics are in Romanian langauge, so I don`t really understand what they are singing about, but the music is full of energy, with some really catchy and anthemic songs like for example Bataie Pe Alee, with streetpunk pure vibe. The vocals are shouted but also fit to the more melodic parts of guitar work. The drumming is fast and energetic and I would like very much to check these guys live. Other songs are also good, it is nice to hear some other bands, from other countries and discover new friends and new music.
What do we get with this one? Well, we get 11 songs of emotional, heartfelt, sometimes harsh and bitter, yet melodic punkrock like we are used to from this fine band. I get the feeling this record is kinda more angry and more anguished then the last one, it must be sign of the times. I love They Burned Our Paintings, it is one of the highlights of this record, also the title songs, then two part Rose`s Hammer and also Utter Despair. The vocals are shouted and angry, yet fit perfectly with raw punk filled with melodic hooks and pure untamed energy in the fast paced songs, singalong backing vocals and streetpunk atmosphere. Good one.
Time for another band from our Croatian scene to grace the pages of this zine. Krešo i Kisele Kiše from Rijeka are back with the new, hm, first half of the album hehe. The new release contains 7 songs. The music is still their recognizable trademark melodic punk mixed with ska core and skatepunk creating awesome melodic anthems just made for singing along live and their shows are fantastic, I have been to couple of them and they never let me down. What immediately comes to my mind on the first listen to the record is, somehow darker overtones in the new songs. I don˙t think they changed, there are still enough songs about drinking, joking and fun, but also about hypocrisy in the scene, selling out, trying to survive in these crazy times etc…There is also a cover of famous cult band Haustor, the band I hate, but KKK version here is fantastic. The lyrics are in Croatian but it doesn`t matter, let the music take you on the higher level. Recommended songs: Dalibor, Režimske kurve, Bože čuvaj Hrvatsku(Odoh Ja u Njemačku).
