The Damned Drummer Departs After London Palladium Show

The Damned drummer “Pinch” (Andrew Pinching) announced today he is parting ways with the seminal UK punk act.
A statement from the drummer read:
After 20 years with The Damned it’s time for me to move on. Having just fulfilled a dream playing Madison Square Garden, the upcoming London Palladium show seems like an obvious stepping off point for me. I’ve been lucky enough to meet some heroes and play shows with legendary bands and amazing characters. I send my love to my band mates past and present as well as everyone in the Damned organization and wish them all the best for the future.
Up the Punks.

The Damned will perform their final show with Pinch at London Palladium on October 27th.TheDamnedMSG29small

(review) Housewarming Party-Baby Teeth

Housewarming Party are punk band from Salt Lake City and they just released their debut full length album. This band was formed in 2016.and released, as they say it, two and half e.p.-s until now and this is their debut album containing 11 songs. The music of Houswarming Party can be described as melodic mid tempo punkrock not unlike The Menzingers, Nothington, The Flatliners, Lawrence Arms and similar bands, meaning heartfelt melodies in vocal lines, beautiful melodic guitar riffs, memorable choruses and harmonies on backing vocals. When I was younger, about ten or so years ago, I would just laugh and wave my hands on such bands because I was only into faster and more hardcore bands, but I like these now. The songs like Cinderblocks, Work Week or Original Muscle Beach are sure to become your instant hits with this band. A strong debut indeed!

(review) Tio Rico-Shit Show Pony(Horn & Hoof Records)

shitshow

Tio Rico are from Manchester, UK and this is their debut record coming out with Horn & Hoof Records. Formed in 2014.Tio Rico released  3 singles and an e.p. This is their first full length album and it contains 11 songs. The music of Tio Rico can simply be categorized as punk. It is a kind of dirty, rawer sounding version of punk, yet keeping enough melody in verses, guitars and choruses to be called melodic punk. There are some indie and pop influences here and there with some garage punk and noise too. The vocals are raspy, raw, but sing and fit perfectly to the music. The lyrics are personal and I think all of us can relate to the themes of the songs. The songs that I somehow find the best on the album are Plastic, Mon Femme and Don´t Tell Me To Smile. This is a good debut album and I am interested to see how they will sound in the future.
