Spanish Love Songs are hailing from Los Angeles, California and this is their new release containing twelve songs. This isn’t your standard California skate punk with nineties influence, no, this is something quite original and great. These guys play emotional melodic punk rock, leaning more into pop punk waters than harsher punk rock with haunting guitar melodies, synth backed harmonies and superb vocals whose emotional voice emphasizes the atmosphere of songs which is quite something. This is pretty darkened album in my opinion, personal lyrics dealing with mental health, sickness, suicide, hope and hopelessness, apocalypse all from personal standpoint and lyrics are great, smart but in your face at the same time. Some of the songs are slower and more atmospheric, some are more straightforward punk rock like awesome ‘Haunted’ which is one of my favorites on this album, smartly chosen for a single and video. Although leaning more into pop one of my highlights is also ‘Clean-Up Crew’, two other songs I must mention are ‘I’m Gonna Miss Everything’ and ‘Exit Bags’. This album is a must for all you fans of haunting and sometimes eerie melodic emotional pop punk rock.

Atomic Punk Rock Powerhouse ELUKAS Drops “Vein” Official Video!
| Prepare for a sonic explosion as punk rock discovery Elukas drops the official video for “Vein.” This power-packed track is part of their EP “Loomad Koos,” scheduled for re-release through Wormholedeath. In their music video “Vein”, the band showcased an unwavering DIY spirit, working with a short budget. The video’s direction was skillfully handled by their bassist, Alan, who was eager to explore his talents as a music video director. Impressively, all the daring stunts featured in the video were executed by their nearly-semiprofessional stuntman, who also happens to be the band’s lead vocalist, Karl. The song itself delves into the theme of addiction, and the band wanted to convey that message visually in the video. Even if the lyrics might not be crystal clear to all their listeners, Elukas hopes the video tells the story in a powerful and visual way. |

| In the fall of 2021, Elukas began as a 5-member punk-rock band with a focus on creating their own music. They played their first concert on March 25, 2022. In May, they recorded 3 singles at Sinusoid Studio and held a writing camp at the drummer’s summer house. In late summer, their original bass player left, and singer Karl took on bass duties. In the fall of 2022, they released three singles at monthly intervals. “Ajurünnak” gained recognition on RockFM and Raadio2. Due to an injury, Alan filled in on bass and later joined permanently. In February, the band recorded their debut EP “Loomad Koos”. The single “Vein” (April 7, 2023) made it to the top 5 best new rock songs by RockFM listeners. Most recently, Elukas graced the stage at the Barbar Feast 2023 festival, where they kicked off the event as the opening act. They also rocked the crowd at the Heavy Music Estonia Showcase Day 2023. |

(review) ADVERSE96-‘Clear The Lane’
ADVERSE96 are hardcore punk band from Liege/Brussels – Belgium. They already released two EPs but this is their first full length album. This record contains ten songs. The music of ADVERSE96 can be described as melodic hardcore punk with lots of post hardcore influences thrown in the music structures, they reminded me a lot of Croatian band called Dead Dog Summer with their catchy melodies, emotional vocals and personal lyrics to which I think most of us can relate to when reading them while listening to the record. Music is straightforward punk rock with tempo changes, energetic singing by the singer whose a bit rough yet melodic voice fits perfectly to the songs from this album. My personal favorites on this album are ‘Folded Paper’, ‘DeadAngles’, ‘December’ to name just a few, but whole album as a whole is one superb piece of work. So, if you like melodic hardcore in a way which was played in early 2000s, with lots of emotion and melody, but also energy, check out this phenomenal record.
