(news – new video) Kevlar Bikini objavio novi spot za pjesmu ‘Flirting With Nihilism’, a snima se i novi album!

No i prije nego što dovrše ovu video-sagu, momci kreću dalje. Naime, ulaze u studio kako bi snimili novi, peti album!

(review) Vermillion – ‘Vermillion EP’

Besides New York hardcore family, there is also thriving punk scene beneath the ground. Vermillion are hailing from Long Island, NY and this is their brand new EP. This one contains five songs. Music of Vermillion is raw sounding punk rock with lots of street punk influences, also riot grrrl especially in singer’s voice which is phenomenal. Her voice can shout, scream, sing melodic clean lines and change in a second. ‘Needle Up My’ is raw punk with almost grungy feel and superb clean anthemic chorus made for singing along. ‘Vocal Retake’ is more straight forward pure punk song with great main vocal line melody and also dual backing vocal harmony making it with its energy and melody one of my favorites on this one. It also has double bass drumming if I hear it right and reminded me a bit of Bad Cop/Bad Cop in some parts. ‘Send You To Hell’ is short but sweet outburst of hardcore punk anger and speed, topped with screaming vocals. ‘Vermillion’ is more slower, ballad with great chorus ‘I want you dead’ just made for singing along and having that melody to make goosebumps on your skin. ‘Halloween’ has that raw hardcore punk speed back again reminding us that this band is capable for hardcore energy along with gentle melodies. Good one.

(news – new single/video) UK’s ska punks released new single and video!

Kill Em Dead is the second single from Faintest Idea’s hotly anticipated new album, The Road To Sedition. It is an energetic ska-punk anthem with a fiery call-and-response chorus that was designed to stomp your feet and shout along to. Kill Em Dead is a passionate call to never stop educating yourself: the lyrics are a jigsaw of books and albums that have contributed to Faintest Idea’s political ideology.

Discussing the meaning behind the latest single, vocalist Dani Rascal says, “Lyrically, the song is about educating yourself politically but not allowing yourself to become too dogmatic and rigid in your beliefs.” The first verse is created from a list of books and the second from a list of albums, but the chorus is all about killing your idols. “Never stop asking questions,” he says, “Especially of those in any kind of authority.”

Kill Em Dead features a four-part earworm of a horn-line, underpinned by pounding rhythmic backline with the ear-candy addition Hammond organ and percussion. It’s a rousing ska-fueled anthem that will give listeners a taste of the modern, irrepressible sound of Faintest Idea.
