Ska punk luminaries LESS THAN JAKE launches its first installment of Lost At Home Sessions. Volume One “Just Like Andy” is now on sale over at Bandcamp. Those who purchase the song at the current price will automatically be entered to win a prize pack that includes an old and rare glow-in-the-dark bobblehead and some out of print vinyl. Contest entries close on May 22nd and Volume Two will be on the horizon. Also, a portion of the proceeds will benefit MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.

A message from the band: “Being cooped up at home like the rest of you, we thought it would be fun to keep the creative juices flowing and see if we could make music from five separate locations. That’s right, we’ve never played these songs together. It’s kind of an experiment, but we’re gonna have fun!”

MusiCares provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need. MusiCares‘ services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies, and each case is treated with integrity and confidentiality. MusiCares also focuses the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly influence the health and welfare of the music community. The Recording Academy and its affiliated charitable foundation MusiCares have established the COVID-19 Relief Fund to help our peers in the music community affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Continuing to play over 150 dates a year while also writing and recording new material has kept the band fresh in a time when “ska” has become something of a four letter word. The list of acts they have supported is staggering (Bon Jovi, Linkin Park, Snoop Dogg) while the list of bands that have supported them makes even the most hardened music industry veteran do a double take (Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Yellowcard). All the while the band has held firm to its punk rock roots and have managed to live through many musical trends simply by just being Less Than Jake.

With well over 300 releases on various labels under their belt, most would think their legacy is already in tact, but the status quo has never interested Less Than Jake. They continue to write and perform new material and have no thoughts of letting up. With the energy and exuberance of a band half its age and the determination of savvy veterans, there is seemingly no end point to this enduring and entertaining band.

LESS THAN JAKE is Chris DeMakes (vocals, guitar), Roger Lima (vocals, bass), Buddy Shaub (trombone), Peter “JR” Wasilewski (saxophone), and Matt Yonker (drums).

(new video-punkrock) Sunset Radio: Release A New Video For The Single Strangers!

Italian punk-rock act Sunset Radio is glad to announce the release of the new video for “Strangers”, single available now in every digital store and in streaming HERE. The track is included in “Seasons”, five-tracks EP co-produced by Fabrizio Panebarco (Pan Music Production / Melody Fall) out on September 15th 2020.

“”Strangers’ is undoubtedly a song a bit ‘foreign’ to us, as the title says, but for some reason I feel it much closer to me than I could ever have imagined” says guitarist Riccardo Tasselli, “It’s a pop-rock ballad, we came out like this, and we wanted to record it, together with the supervision of Fabrizio Pan. It’s a very intimate, nostalgic and melancholic piece but at the same time with hopeful. The particular moment that the whole of humanity is going through, didn’t allow us to do much, so the idea was to gather people, friends, fans in a single video clip to make us feel a little closer in this hard period especially for us musicians. We were pleasantly surprised by the way people around us welcomed this initiative and the incredible amount of videos they sent us. In such a difficult time for everyone, a song like ‘Strangers’, even if only for a few minutes, can help us all feel closer. We can consider it our anthem for this 2020 quarantine”.

We continue to promote our local scene a bit, so here is the new album by our punkrock heroes from Zagreb, Mašinko. I followed this band since they were only let us call them one hit wonder, but they evolved into one of the biggest names in punkrock scene here in Croatia, with three guitars, all of the members except drummer singing wonderful harmonies on vocals and having fantastic song arrangements delivering melodic punkrock just made to smile and cry and sing along with. This new album contains 12 songs. Veća lopata and Punim plućima were singles before, also Cmrok 2, so I listened to that songs before, for me somehow being not the same quality and hits as last full length and that split with Fat Prezident. But rest of the material on this album is what makes it great. Songs like Jedne davne jeseni or Tu smo gdje smo are pure punkrock poetry from the street and I love those two making it my favorites on this record. The lyrics are in Croatia as you might have guessed but no matter, you can relate to them in anyway possible. Also, two songs that I must mention are Izgubljenom vremenu, Perice and Vrijeme za spavanje being for me standouts on this record. Great record by great band!
