(review) The Rumperts – ‘New Age Jesus’ (SBÄM Records)

The Rumperts are in no way strangers to the pages of this zine, we covered their single taken off this album so now it is time to review the full length album that came out with SBÄM Records. The Rumperts are Austrian punk band with base in capitol Vienna. This new full length contains ten songs of melodic, yet raw punk with health y dose of hardcore punk thrown in the song structures. The lyrics deal with political side of things in Europe and world, but also through the lines reflect on personal, our little private world that each of us has. Vocals are great, angry when necessary, melodic all the time, shouted and singing, songs are catchy having such nice parts just made for singing along at gigs. My personal favorites are ‘Nazissist’, ‘Growin Old’ and ‘Mutiny’. So, support and get this one, you will not regret it, cause it’s a great punk album.

(review) Boss’ Daughter – ‘Bouts With Bummers’ (SBÄM Records)

Boss’ Daughter from Nevada are one of the most hard working bands in the underground and this is their new album with SBÄM Records and it is a blast! This one contains 16 songs but don’t worry it is neither too long or boring. I am surprised how varied this album is. There are your classic fast skate melodic punk songs leaning in the nineties melodic punk like ‘Never Alone’ or ‘Photography’. But, there is almost ska punk rock vibe with ‘Extinction’ and ‘Singing About Drinking’ reminded me a lot of country songs in its skeleton, although it is a punk rock song. Vocals remind me at time of Fat Mike with color of voice and way of singing. Backing vocals and harmonies are just great and you caught yourself humming to the songs long after the album is finished playing. Brass and horns sections in some songs reminded me of Mad Caddies, but their fastest songs, like in one of my favorite on this record, ‘Religious Convenience’. Lyrics deal with personal themes, but cleverly written and somehow making me sad and nostalgic, but hey, maybe it is just me. Everything on this record suits me as a listener and fan of such punk rock just fine. Some of the songs I must also highlight on this record are ‘Four Seasons And A Movie’, ‘Away’ and ‘Imaginary Arguments’. Great one.

Punkrockers Mudfight released new single which announces new record with SBÄM Records!

“Baby! Hey! Won‘t you give me another chance?”
With these words and the first single, Mudfight start the journey towards the release of their debut album. On the one hand Baby! Hey! sets the tone you can expect on Time For Revolutio”, on the other hand it delivers an antidote against remorse and lovesickness – all in the form of an energetic punk anthem.

Thereby the up-and-coming artists tell a story from the perspective of a person who apologizes for their behavior in a romantic relationship and asks for a second chance. Whether this person deserves it, remains unanswered … but what’s for sure is: Mudfight have come to stir up the punk scene properly! While the video for Baby! Hey! was inspired by classics like Sex Pistols’ God Save The Queen or Green Day’s Father Of All, their aim is to get the younger generation more excited about punk again. For this purpose, the newcomer from Upper Austria have chosen a performance video to introduce themselves as a band and to show what they enjoy most: being on stage and giving everything!

The video was made in collaboration with Klaus Winkler (Loprosh.tv). Fun Fact: It was shot in a church!

Baby! Hey! will be out on April 26, 2022 and is the first single from the debut album Time For Revolution, which will be released on July 15, 2022 by SBÄM Records.
